    Fundraising, Partnerships & Development Lead

    Role Overview

    Buildher seeks a strategic and results-focused Fundraising, Partnerships & Development Lead to drive institutional fundraising, corporate partnerships, development events, and board-linked initiatives. This role advances Buildher’s multi-year growth strategy, strengthens donor relationships, secures new partners, and positions Buildher for greater visibility and impact. The ideal candidate translates Buildher’s technical, social, and enterprise work into clear, persuasive proposals and reports, combining analytical thinking with creativity and disciplined follow-through.
    Key Responsibilities 
    Fundraising & Donor Management

    • Build and manage a strong donor pipeline aligned with Buildher’s focus on gender inclusion, workforce development, enterprise growth, and green construction.
    • Lead proposal development, budgeting, grant management, and reporting in collaboration with Program and Finance teams.
    • Maintain donor systems, trackers, reporting logs, and dashboards, and prepare updates, newsletters, and funding briefs.
    • Coordinate donor meetings, conferences, follow-ups, and stewardship activities to strengthen high-value relationships.

    Corporate, Strategic & Board Partnerships

    • Identify, secure, and manage corporate, material, tool, and equipment partners supporting Buildher’s training, upskilling, production, and enterprise operations.
    • Develop partnership proposals aligned with CSR, ESG, workforce development, and inclusion priorities.
    • Manage full partnership lifecycles with clear KPIs, consistent follow-through, and measurable outcomes.
    • Facilitate technical collaborations, product testing, and innovation pilots with partners.
    • Coordinate partner meetings, briefing notes, and stewardship steps.
    • Support the CEO and Board on board-linked fundraising priorities,  preparing board materials and maintaining visibility of commitments and opportunities.

    Cross-Functional Leadership & Systems

    • Lead collaboration across departments to develop donor materials, case studies and impact stories, while managing conferences and partner events.
    • Strengthen internal systems, dashboards, and lessons learned to guide strategic decisions.
    • Promote a partnership-focused culture and ensure alignment across teams.

    Events, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Plan and execute development and partnership events, including mentorship days, graduations, and employer engagements, tracking measurable outcomes.
    • Lead internal and external communications, stakeholder visits, and consultant coordination.
    • Oversee social media strategy, content, campaigns, and organizational visibility initiatives.
    • Support the Board by preparing materials for board meetings, tracking board-linked fundraising actions, and ensuring follow-up on commitments and opportunities.
    • Provide analysis, briefings, and impact updates to inform board decisions and strategic discussions.
    • Lead and oversee all internal and external communications, stakeholder engagements, and social media campaigns, establishing clear standards and rhythms to ensure alignment, consistent representation of Buildher’s mission

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, international development, program management, business, public policy, marketing, sociology, behavioral science, or related field; postgraduate training is a plus
    • 5–8 years’ experience in fundraising, partnerships, communications, or external relations in international development, social enterprise, or related sectors.
    • Proven ability to secure USD 100,000+ in grants, partnerships, or sponsorships and manage complex portfolios.
    • Skilled in strategic communication, translating Buildher’s work into persuasive narratives and reports.
    • Experience in social media strategy, campaign execution, and post-event communications.
    • Strong project management, coordination, and reliable follow-through.
    • Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and managing external consultants.
    • Cross-cultural experience with international teams or partners.
    • Proficient in CRM systems, Google Workspace, and digital reporting tools.
