What You Can Expect

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective strategic leadership of the business controlling processes and operational supply chain management function in East Africa. Core responsibilities will include the following-

• Operational management of the local SC&C unit, through the establishment of a modern, positive management culture - fostering the principles of joint ownership & responsibility for forecasting & sales budget success
• Ensuring the efficient management of direct reports, the local Supply Chain & Controlling organiza-tion, through realistic target setting, clear communication & regular feedback within the defined performance management & development framework
• Implementation of the Africa Strategy and enforcement of internal "rules of engagement"
• Driving the business performance management agenda, in collaboration with the National Sales Managers & leadership team counterparts
• Planning, forecasting, controlling & reporting of APE/A East Africa related inventory & costs
• Service & Customer related contract management
• Leading the regional Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) process in collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Regional Management
• General process & specific business planning optimization in both short, to long term
• Monitoring actual sales performance versus forecasted volume targets
• Pro-active steering of the annual local budgeting process and continuous support of the central AP controlling function (Germany)
• Assist in pricing and margin strategy development. Challenging partners to exploit pricing & volume opportunities in a volatile, yet exciting market

What We Expect

• A recognized qualification in Finance, Supply Chain or Business Administration Management
• Minimum of 5 years of finance &/or controlling experience
• Minimum of 3 years of Management experience
• Minimum of 2 years of specific Process Optimization &/or Supply Chain Management experience
• In-depth SAP experience
• Customer Focused with Strategic approach
• Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural, highly diverse environment
• International &/or IFRS specific experience will be beneficial
