    Locum Registrar, Department of Surgery

    Introduction

    The Medical College has 4-year Master of Medicine degrees in Anaesthesia, family medicine, medicine, obstetrics & Gynaecology, paediatric, pathology, radiology and 5 year Master of Medicine degree in General surgery. It also offers fellowship programmes in cardiology, infectious diseases, neonatology and paediatric neurology.

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate's clinical duties will include

    • providing second on call coverage
    • running of general surgery clinics with both preoperative and post-op care plans
    • S/he will be expected to run routine theatre lists with view to teaching as well as increasing technical expertise at a surgical Fellow level and engage with departmental academic activities at Tutorial fellow level.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent, Master of Medicine in General Surgery or successful completion of a residency in General Surgery and should be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Board as medical practitioners. Preference will be given to candidates with Interests toward future faculty engagement preferably with intent of General Surgery sub-specialization.
