Physiotherapy Lecturers (2 Position) at Amref International University (AMIU)

Purpose of the job

To develop, manage and monitor implementation of Physiotherapy programme and related activities in the university. These include, but are not limited to teaching and training, curriculum development and
review; research, innovation and fund-raising activities; publication and dissemination of knowledge; supervision of students, and assisting to the adherence of or quality assurance and accreditation
requirements by relevant regulatory bodies. The holder of this post will report to the Head of Department in the execution of his/ her duties, and will contribute toward meeting the key performance indicators
and targets of the department, and the overall mission and vision of the university

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teaching and training in the area of Physiotherapy.
• Curricula development and Review
• Conduct Research and Innovation activities
• Engage in fund-raising activities in the Department
• Student supervision and mentoring
• Mentoring of junior staff
• Publications and other forms of dissemination of knowledge
• Engage in professional development activities
• Engage in any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Department, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, from time to time.

Education & Professional Qualification

• PhD in Physiotherapy or related field.
• Those with masters, and registered for PhD, with adequate teaching experience may be considered for the position of Tutorial Fellow, should a suitable candidate with PhD not be identified
• Must be show evidence of registration with relevant professional organization/s i.e Physiotherapy Council of Kenya.

Experience

• At least three years teaching at University level.
• Those with masters, and registered for PhD, with adequate teaching experience may be considered for the position of Tutorial Fellow, should a suitable candidate with PhD not be identified
• Evidence of participation in research activities, fund-raising capability and peer reviewed publications.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and accreditation requirements by relevant regulatory organizations.
• Evidence of supervision of students at master’s level.
