    Project Associate – External Affairs

    The Project Associate is a key member of the External Affairs (EA) team, supporting the delivery of high-impact initiatives and strategic convenings. These include roundtables, workshops, webinars, delegation trips, business-to-business (B2B) and business-togovernment (B2G) engagements, and capacity-building events in addition to the annual AHB Symposium. The role involves full-cycle project support, including stakeholder engagement (RSVP), compliance adherence, content creation, speaker coordination, logistics, branding and marketing oversight, and follow-up. Fluency in both French and English is required, as a growing portion of EA activities is taking place in Francophone African countries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation and coordination of External Affairs-led activities such as:
    • High-level roundtables and policy dialogues
    • Webinars and virtual events
    • Delegation and learning trips (domestic and international)
    • B2B and B2G engagement sessions
    • Technical workshops and stakeholder convenings
    • AHB Symposium and related side events
    • Manage event logistics, including venue coordination, material preparation, and onsite execution.
    • Oversee RSVP management and participant communications.
    • Identify and engage speakers and facilitators; prepare briefing packs and speaker notes.
    • Develop high-quality written outputs including concept notes, agendas, articles, talking points, reports, and meeting summaries.
    • Provide secretarial and coordination support, including meeting scheduling, minute taking, and post-event follow-up.
    • Conduct background research to support project content and ensure factual accuracy.
    • Engage with internal departments (consulting, marketing, business development) to ensure smooth collaboration.
    • Represent AHB in professional settings and support the organization’s visibility and advocacy goals.
    • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying client needs and linking them to AHB’s service offerings.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, International Relations, Public Health, or a related field.
    • Fluent ability in both English and French is a must.
    • Strong writing and formatting skills, particularly using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with international development, global health, or stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
    • Strong research, synthesis, and communication abilities.
    • Comfortable coordinating with high-level stakeholders and managing logistics for large and small events.

    Work Experience

    • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a project coordination or external affairs role.
    • Proven experience organizing multi-stakeholder events or public-private dialogues.
    • Experience working across teams and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
