Psychologist Intern at Oasis Healthcare

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Assessing a client's needs, abilities or behaviour using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of behaviour
2. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, social workers, education professionals, health visitors, psychiatrists, physiotherapist, occupational therapists and any other consultants
3. Devising and monitoring appropriate treatment programs, including therapy, counseling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues;
4. Offering therapy and treatments for difficulties relating to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behaviour
5. Developing and evaluating service provision for clients;
6. Providing consultation to other professions, encouraging a psychological approach in their work;
7. Counseling and supporting care givers;
8. Developing, implementing or evaluating employee selection procedures, including psychometric tests, assessment center exercises and structured interviews;
9. Mediating in situations where there is conflict between employees and management or an employment dispute;
10. Designing, developing and implementing initiatives aimed at helping employees to cope successfully with changes taking place in their workplace, such as restructuring, downsizing or new business processes.
11. Encourage positive healthcare behaviors such as healthy eating, attending health checks and regular exercise
12. To offer home visits for clients who are unable to visit the facility for services.
13. To follow up on home visits done by social workers

Requirements

Degree in psychology/clinical/counseling psychology from a recognized institution
