    Medical Officer - ICU

    Job Purpose: 

    Responsible for evaluating, diagnostics, treating, providing consultation, and admitting all patients at Critical Care Departments.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ethically reviewing and instituting appropriate therapeutic interventions for patients admitted to critical care units or requiring critical care across the hospital.
    • Reviewing patients in other units where CCU/HDU support is needed and making appropriate decisions on interventions required.
    • Assisting in coaching and mentoring of nursing staff on various aspects of critical care and management of critical illness.
    • Performing medical procedures expected of a CCU medical officer.
    • Ensuring that high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care are maintained.
    • Preparing medical reports and other clinical documents as required.
    • Ensuring professionalism and timeliness in handling of clients at both individual and
      departmental level.
    • Participating in continuous medical education and the development of departmental clinical protocols, quality improvement plans, and initiatives.
    • Participating in research, clinical audits, and review programs for the department.
    • Ensuring consistency in the clinical protocols and provision of care.
    • Ensuring regular and adequate communication with patients and relatives on clinical
      progress.
    • Advocating for excellent patient care and outcomes.
    • During the shift, respond immediately to Code Blue calls as the resident Code Team Leader for the hospital cardiac arrest team and actively lead the resuscitation of patients who suffer in hospital cardiac arrest.
    • Attend all regularly scheduled teaching sessions for in hospital staff, including morning CMEs, journal clubs and simulation sessions (including on post night shift days).
    • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
    • Valid certification in BLS and ACLS.
    • Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification an added advantage.
    • European Paediatric Advance Life Support (EPALS) certification an added advantage.

    Professional Qualification

    Job Experience

    • Two-years post-internship experience.
    • 2 years ICU experience.
    • Private practice experiences an added advantage.

    Membership

    • Valid registration and annual practice license.
    • Registered with Kenya Medical practitioners and Dentist Board.

    ICT Manager

    Job Purpose: 

    Responsible for the overall development and implementation of the ICT strategy, management of ICT systems, products and services. Responsible for ensuring all ICT systems and entire ICT infrastructure are well supported to ensure an efficient, secure, and reliable service for hospital operations and all users. This role requires strong leadership in managing the hospital’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with healthcare systems while safeguarding patient data.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain the ICT strategy, policies, and standards in line with the hospital’s short and long-term objectives.
    • Prepare, review and monitor the hospital ICT annual budget and operating plan to ensure effective implementation of the ICT strategy to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
    • Provide leadership to the ICT team and advise various departments and the hospital management team on ICT developments, policies, integration and sustainability issues with the objective of increasing efficiency and maximizing return on investment.
    • Maintain a cumulative view of all ICT projects, statuses and schedule for implementation support across the hospital.
    • Ensure that the Hospital Management Information System, supportive hardware infrastructure and other related applications are smoothly running in order to minimize downtime and maximize client satisfaction.
    • Build and strengthen working relationships with suppliers, conduct supplier analysis, and assesses effectiveness to ensure that third-party services meet the hospital business requirements.
    • Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure ICT purchases are in line with the hospital standards and in compliance with best practices.
    • Assess and analyze ICT companywide training needs to ensure efficient and consistent adaptation and use of ICT applications with the objective of sustaining high quality service delivery.
    • Deploy and maintain appropriate ICT infrastructure and connectivity solutions for secure and efficient data management in order to facilitate timely clinical. operations and management decision making.
    • Plan, design, direct and coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of appropriate security of the Hospital ICT infrastructure environment.
    • Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensures that ICT facilities and user devices meet the business needs.
    • Ensure timely and quality service delivery, technical support, and advice to user requests.
    • Keenly monitor ICT systems operations in terms of functionality, security and service delivery and provide statistical and analytical reports on ICT-related data, metrics, and trends.
    • Perform other duties as you may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • A degree in Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Programming, Information Systems or equivalent ICT-related postgraduate qualifications obtained from a recognized institution of higher learning.

    Job Experience

    • At least 8 years experience  in Information and Communications Technology, with 3 years’ experience at management level.
    • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications.
    • Professional certifications e.g. Microsoft Certified Solutions Experts or equivalent, Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent, Microsoft Share Point Foundation. or equivalent, ITIL Foundation Certified or any other certification.
    • Systems management and support experience preferred.
    • Experience in design of ICT Standard Operating Procedures and Process Flowcharts.
