    Consultant – Health Policy and Systems Research (HSR)

    Deliverables

    • Deliverable 1: Provide an overview synthesis report of the six countries’ case studies. The report should synthesize the country-case studies and their response of climate change policies for health. The report should provide a summary of the findings, including areas of policy action as well as recommended priorities for health systems policymakers working to respond to the climate crisis. 
    • Deliverable 2: Based on the findings of the synthesis report, prepare a draft donor report. The report should focus on the project’s achievements and impact, summarizing the project’s key findings and recommendations. 
    • Deliverable 3: Contribute to developing and continuing the Alliance’s work on HPSR and climate change, in accordance with donor application requests. 

    Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

    Educational Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • First level university degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Political Science or Environmental Studies.   

    Desirable: 

    • Advanced university degree in Development Cooperation.

    Experience

    Essential:

    • At least three years of experience in public health, including the field of health policy and systems research with relevance to low- and middle-income countries, preferably on environmental health or climate change. 
    • Demonstrated experience in writing synthesis reports and donor reports. 

    Desirable:

    • Experience in a UN or an international non-governmental organization. 
    • Experience of writing grant proposals. 

    Skills/Knowledge:

    Essential:

    • Excellent writing and editing skills.
    • Sound analytical skills. 
    • Knowledge of climate change and public health issues.
    • Proven ability to plan, execute and work independently.
    • Expertise in writing grant proposals.

    Consultant – Graphic Designer

    Purpose of consultancy

    To define and maintain a streamlined visual identity for the department; and ensure the timely design and delivery of laid out technical products for the department. 

    Deliverables: 

    Task 1: Ensure the design and layout of technical products including guidance documents, meeting reports, policy briefs and infographics of EPP department.

    • Deliverables: Designed and laid out products specific to EPP. 

    Task 2: Ensure the design and layout of the EPI-WIN slide sets.

    • Deliverables: Between 2 and 4 professionally designed slide sets each month.

    Qualifications, experience, skills and languages.

    Educational Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • University degree in a biological science.

    Desirable:

    • Relevant diplomas in graphic design and visual content presentation.

    Experience

    Essential:

    • At least five years of experience doing graphic design for international organizations, academic entities or similar organizations.

    Desirable:

    • Experience working with WHO or other UN organizations.
    • Proven experience working with health emergency preparedness and response content.
    • Experience in creating content and materials for use in a formalised training setting.

    Consultant – WHO Taskforce on Workforce Mental Health and Wellbeing

    Purpose of consultancy

    To provide technical support, advise and contribute to the coordination, drafting and implementation of a WHO Workforce Mental Health Plan, in collaboration with the WHO Taskforce on Workforce Mental Health and Wellbeing.

    Deliverables

    • Provide relevant support in the coordination of the three-level WHO workforce mental health taskforce through participation in meetings, activities, projects and reporting to facilitate the implementation of the strategic objectives detailed in the draft WHO UNAIDS workforce mental health plan. 
    • Prepare drafts of the WHO UNAIDS workforce mental health plan and submit for approval. 
    • Participate in building partnerships and work closely with other departments, initiatives and offices to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to mental health for the workforce (i.e., Departments or offices of: Respectful workplace, DEI, PRESEAH, Staff Health and Wellbeing, Human Resources and Talent, Ombudsmen, Staff Association, Communications), including agencies in receipt of WHO SHW and Ombudsperson services (UNAIDs, UNITAID, ICC, IARC).
    • Contribute to the integration of mental health into related organizational strategies, policies and plans i.e. (those designed to meet the human resource and health needs of the workforce).
    • Participate in workforce mental health within agency committees and interagency committees and working groups including but not limited to The UN Mental Health Strategy Implementation Board.   
      • Contribute to the implementation of the budget in relation to activities of workforce mental health plan. 
      • ​​Facilitate ongoing initiatives of workforce mental health e.g., the development and maintenance of the online platform designed to support workforce mental health, initiatives that increase awareness for mental health including webinars, training requests, workforce mental health data, communications plan.  

    Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

    Educational Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • Master's degree in mental health or related field.  

    Experience

    Essential:

    • At least 7 years of relevant experience in programme coordination and implementation in relevant field of expertise e.g., workforce mental health care, mental health, occupational health or public health.

    Desirable:

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience working in humanitarian emergencies.
    • Experience with WHO or other UN agencies.

    Skills/Knowledge:

    Essential:

    • Ability to contribute to the strategic vision for workforce mental health, including excellent skills in coordination and project management. 
    • Excellent skills in engaging effectively and diplomatically with diverse actors including the ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries and establish and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
    • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentations) including the ability to defend and explain difficult issues and positions to staff at all levels.
    • Very good working knowledge of technology tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

    Languages required:

    Essential:  

    • Expert knowledge of English.

    Desirable: 

    • Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language.
