    Electrician

    • The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in accordance with safety standards and operational requirements. This role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the company’s electrical equipment and systems across various sites.

    Responsibility.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Install and configure electrical systems and equipment at operational sites, including waste processing plants and recycling centers.
    • Set up wiring, electrical panels, lighting systems, and control systems in TTS facilities.
    • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems at waste processing facilities and other sites to prevent malfunctions.
    • Monitor and maintain electrical systems supporting key operations, such as machinery at the MRFs and waste sorting equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair faulty electrical systems and equipment critical to operations, minimizing downtime for waste collection and processing.
    • Respond to breakdowns in electrical systems used in waste sorting, compacting, and other machinery, ensuring timely fixes.
    • Assist in optimizing electrical systems to improve energy efficiency across the company’s operations, reducing costs.
    • Install energy-efficient systems where possible, including LED lighting and automated power management systems.
    • Ensure all electrical systems are installed and maintained in accordance with Kenyan electrical codes and safety standards.
    • Implement electrical safety measures for on-site staff at operational facilities, including proper grounding and use of protective equipment.
    • Maintain detailed records of installations, inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs for internal and regulatory purposes.
    • Report on energy usage and provide recommendations for reducing electrical consumption at various TTS facilities.
    • Collaborate with project teams on electrical installations for new waste management facilities or expansions of existing operations.
    • Provide technical support during the setup of new systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
    • Be on call for electrical emergencies at operational sites to minimize disruptions in key operations, such as waste sorting or compacting.

    Qualifications:
    Education:

    • Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.

    Skills:

    • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems used in industrial operations.
    • Ability to read technical blueprints and schematic diagrams.
    • Familiar with electrical safety standards and Kenyan codes.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.

    Team Leader

    • The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific team at the Sorting Site, ensuring that all waste management activities, including sorting, baling, and processing, are carried out efficiently and according to company standards. The role involves coordinating team activities, maintaining productivity, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

    KEY RESPONSIBIITIES
    Leadership:

    • Lead a team of support staff.
    • Ensure effective manpower planning.
    • Motivate and support the team to achieve Plastic Sorting goals and targets.

    Quality Control:

    • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of plastic sorting operations.

    Baling Operations:

    • Work with the Sorting Plant Manager and Sorting Plant Supervisor to develop plastic sorting schedules and plans.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the sorting process.
    • Proper planning to ensure residual waste is minimized. I.e. all dabras in the right storage area.
    • Ensuring proper housekeeping around the respective sorting area. (E.g. no waste on the ground, waste only in (whole) dabras). 
    • Ensuring proper housekeeping around the respective dabra storage, bale storage and baling area.
    • Ensuring that the respective Plastic Sorting team sorting and baling targets are met as set by MRF manager (both quality and quantity)

    Reporting and documentation: 

    • Keep accurate records of sorting numbers and staff attendance.

    Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to improve overall facility efficiency and effectiveness.  

    Safety Compliance:

    • Enforce and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for plastic sorting Staff.
    • Ensuring all staff are wearing their personal protective equipment.
    • Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions.

    Equipment Monitoring 

    • Monitoring equipment and tracking materials usage for the daily operations such as baling straps.

    Inventory tracking

    • Conduct stock counts for recyclable materials baled and unbaled on a weekly basis.
    • Assist the head of department in verifying stocks and reconciling the inventory reports.

    Qualifications:
    Education:

    • Diploma or certificate in operations/agricultural/horticultural/Horticultural/Warehouse management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

    Experience:

    • At least One (1) Year leading a team in a production, packs house, Warehouse logistics, or any other industrial operations working in teams.

    Skills:

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
