    Financial Officer

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring that financial administrative processes in the Country office are auditable and efficient.
    • Supporting and instructing projects and projects partner organizations in matters relating to financial management.
    • Monitor and react to emerging financial risks related to co-funding.
    • Maintain a system for high quality verification of expenditures and supporting documentation.
    • Implement, maintain and monitor a system for checking eligibility of expenses in relation to donor regulations and Welthungerhilfe regulations.
    • Assist in preparing financial reports for grants at periodic intervals and submit them to Head of Finance for review.
    • Hold monthly finance meetings and work with budget holders and the heads of emergency programme to develop a monitoring system to review the financial status of budget expenditure and to identify and solve any current or potential issues.
    • Coordinating the training of nationals and expatriate staff and project partner organizations.
    • Coordinating and supervising the country office statements on audit and accounting reports and checking the implementation of appropriate recommendations and requirements.
    • Involvement in all financial administrative matters with actual and potential co- financers on location, including maintaining contacts and examining financing modalities regarding ongoing and planned individual projects.

    To qualify as Finance Officer, the candidate must poses the following:

    • 5 or more years of progressive financial management experience is required.
    • A holder of Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA (K) Finalist
    • 5 years’ experience in grants management as well as an understanding of donor regulations. Eg BMZ, USAID, DFID and EU.
    • Audit experience as an added advantage.
    • Three years of experience in an international NGO/UN field office is preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience and skill in budget preparation and analysis, financial reporting preparation and presentation and proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports.
    • Proven experience working with partners
    • Strong Accounting skills and experience, including management of general ledgers, journal entries, payroll, payables and balance sheets.
    • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel
    • Supervisory skills and strong organizational skills.
    • Strong team player with ability to maintain positive attitude under pressure
    • Excellent oral and written English skills

    Nutrition Field Officer

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
    Responsibility 4: 

    • Capacity building/Strengthening6
    • Strengthen the capacity of CHWs in promotion of MIYCN activities and health education in all project areas and contact points.
    • In Liason with WHH agricuulture lead officer, Provide technical assistance in the areas of agricultural productivity.
    • Conduct farmer contact meetings and follow up meetings and select and recruit model farmers.
    • Assess the training needs of farmers and stakeholders and participate in joint activities with other stakeholders eg field days.
    • Provide training and support to model farmers, farmer field schools and farmer groups.
    • Liaise with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative and other stakeholders from inception, implementation,assessment and evaluations of the project.
    • Plan project implementation related activities and ensure knowledge transfer to staff, partners including project direct beneficiaries and other stakeholders.

    Responsibility 5: 

    • Sub-county activities management
    • Develop and execute a joint MIYCN/One health work plan with the SCHMTs based on the WHH/SCHMT annual work plans.
    • Together with the other team members select intervention sites and expansions based on set criteria after consultation with stakeholders.

    Others Responsibilities :

    • Perform any other tasks as required by line manager.
    • Report all relevant security issues and information to the Security Focal Person and the Head of Project.
    • Develop and maintain contacts with all relevant stakeholders.

    To qualify as a Nutrition Field Officer, the candidate must possess the following:

    • BSc in Nutrition or related health field from a recognized university
    • At least 2 years of progressive practical experience in nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive community field work preferably with an NGO
    • Training and facilitation experience
    • Experience in implementation of MIYCN in liaison with MoH
    • In-depth understanding of rural set ups /development.
    • Ability to conduct nutrition trainings that provide farmers with information that can help them improve agricultural productivity and consumption
    • Good report and proposal writing skills
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Community Mobilization skills highly required
    • Good communicator with analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of local language is preferable

    Livestock Field Officer

    To qualify as Livestock Production Officer, the candidate must pose the following:

    • A minimum of a BSc. Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Animal Science, Animal Production, Livestock production, Agriculture or Agricultural Education and Extension from a recognized Institution.
    • At least 2 years of proven experience in provision of livestock extension services in the field.
    • A demonstration of practical experience in breed improvement, rangeland seeding, fodder production and preservation.
    • Experience working with communities at the grassroots level.
    • Knowledge of green livestock production techniques and value chains.
    • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent community organization skills.
    • Knowledge of local language is preferable
    • High ethical standards of behavior, good judgment, respect for others, confidentiality and attention to detail coupled with a positive attitude.
    • Passionate about the environment, community engagement and sustainable
    • development particularly green value chains.
    • Excellent writing, hands on demonstration and oral presentation skills.
    • Energetic, proactive and capable of working independently as well as being an active member of the team
