    Virtual Care Doctor

    JOB SUMMARY

    Antara’s virtual care doctor will be responsible for providing high quality care to Antara’s beneficiaries via Antara’s virtual care platform. Said care can be provided via text, voice or video. S/he will be working hand in hand with Antara Health’s team of health Navigators, whose responsibility is coordinating the longitudinal care and follow-up of all Antara beneficiaries. 

    S/he will be responsible for developing virtual care protocols and pathways, supporting Antara’s team of Health Navigators, liaising with Antara’s clinical partners and managing the virtual clinical practice of Antara health as the company grows.

    As a priority, the virtual care doctor will promote, maintain, and improve the health of the beneficiary, through high quality virtual care encounters, diligent follow-up and continuous design and updating of the clinical best practices of Antara’s Health Navigators and clinicians. 

    KEY FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Our virtual care doctor will be responsible for managing incoming virtual consultations as well as contributing to the clinical learning and quality control of a team of trained nurses providing Health Navigation to Antara’s beneficiaries.
    • The virtual doctor will be responsible for:
    • Providing high quality clinical care via text, phone or video for any Antara beneficiary seeking virtual care services
    • Supporting the Health Navigation team to provide the best possible healthcare experience for Antara’s beneficiaries
    • Generating and adapting clinical pathways/protocols for the Antara team
    • Liaising with Antara’s clinical service providers’ clinical team to harmonize protocols and pathways

    KEY DELIVERABLES

    • High quality clinical care provided via Antara’s virtual care platform
    • Rationalized use of clinical and medication resources 
    • High customer satisfaction rating
    • Daily clinical update on relevant virtual care encounters with key learning objectives
    • Ensure virtual visits are logged into the system properly, an assessment/diagnosis and a plan generated.
    • Follow up with partner providers for any critical and necessary information required to manage the beneficiary’s case well, including care management plans, prescriptions, etc. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • MBChB qualification or higher. 
    • Experience working in a community-based setting for at least 1 to 2 years preferred. 
    • Superior written and oral fluency in Swahili and English required. Oral fluency in local languages is important 
    • Experience working in a multicultural setting. 
    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. . 
    • Experience in administrative or accounting/finance functions preferred. 
    • Superior communication skills, including proven listening skills, and ability to communicate appropriately in a medical setting. 
    • Ability and willingness to provide emotional support, encouragement and motivation to patients. 
    • Ability to treat customers with the highest degree of respect and discretion.

    Provider Engagement Liaison

    We are looking for candidates with excellent relationship establishment and management, as well as problem-solving skills who are committed to building, managing and maintaining Antara’s relationship with our provider partners to ensure that our members receive the best care possible. The responsibilities of a provider engagement manager would include establishing relationships with providers, understanding the key parties and departments with which Antara would need to engage to ensure that our members receive the in-facility service they require, building and managing problem escalation and resolution protocols to ensure seamless service to Antara’s members. The role requires a highly organised person with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to ensure seamless service provision for Antara’s members.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Identifying key stakeholders of medical service provider partners with whom Antara will engage
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with key personnel of medical service provider partners
    • Maintaining database of key contacts of medical service provider partners Antara will be working with
    • Keeping abreast of and updating the Antara’s Customer Success & Clinical teams on any changes in processes, service offering or other ways of working at Antara’s medical service provider partners
    • Developing and implementing the partnership engagement framework and process to ensure seamless engagement between Antara and our medical service provider partners
    • Ensuring that all there is a clear process for data sharing between Antara and our medical service provider partners
    • Problem solving on all relationship and operational related challenges that may arise in Antara’s engagement with medical service provider partners
    • Demonstrating value proposition of Antara’s engagement with medical service provider partners 

    KEY DELIVERABLES

    • Medical provider partnership engagement framework that will allow Antara to work with:
      • Institutional network provider facilities
      • Standalone institutional facilities
      • Individual medical service providers (individual doctors)
    • Engagement & Communications Tools for each category of provider partners that Antara anticipates working with that will detail:
      • Antara’s services
      • Antara’s value proposition to providers
      • the routine engagement process and the key information/data points that need to be transmitted bi-directionally
      • the periodicity of various data requests from providers and the format of said data
    • Follow up with partner providers for any critical and necessary information required to resolve any issues arising on service delivery failure or changes
    • Maintain a log of any issues that need resolution with regard to operations, feedback on service delivery, concerns raised by members, payers and other stakeholders.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration or Management. Minimum requirement of first degree
    • At least 3-5 years of experience working with an underwriter or broker in a provider relations management role
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;  superior oral and written fluency in English & Kiswahili required. 
    • Exceptional problem solving skills
    • Highly organised and able to establish and maintain multiple relations with ease
    • Comfortable working in a dispersed team.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel.

    Mental Health Counselor

    We are looking for emotionally sensitive candidates with excellent problem-solving skills who are committed to helping people better their lives. The responsibilities of a counseling psychologist include listening to patients and identifying their core problems, building strong, long-term relationships based on trust, and monitoring patient response to treatment over time, among other duties.

    Counseling psychologists should be expert problem solvers with good diagnostic skills. This requires a highly analytical mindset and the ability to understand people on a psychoanalytic level.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Scheduling patient consultations.
    • Assessing patients and identifying their problems.
    • Engaging in discussion with patients and making them feel comfortable.
    • Implementing individualized treatment programs.
    • Undertaking psychometric testing.
    • Evaluating patient responses to treatment over time.
    • Organizing a long-term counseling plan that involves multiple visits.
    • Offering services to all age groups.
    • Offering both one-on-one and group counseling.
    • Keeping a detailed account of patient mental health history.
    • Being patient and building relationships based on trust.

    • High quality virtual-first psychological and emotional counseling
    • Screen all beneficiaries
    • Craft personalized management plans for all beneficiaries
    • Maintain beneficiaries’ care management plans, track progress against goals, and highlight concerns or considerations that may need to be taken into account.
    • Routine and effective ongoing care and follow-up through periodic touch points with beneficiaries to ensure that their mental health plan is on track.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A Degree in psychology. Preferably a Masters or PhD but not required
    • A valid license from Kenya Psychological Association
    • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience
    • Good observational skills and attention to detail.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients.
    • Highly analytical mindset.
    • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
    • Superior written and oral fluency in Kiswahili and English required. Oral fluency in local languages is important.
    • Comfortable working in a dispersed team.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel
