    Procurement Specialist

    Reports to: Head of Operations

    IPPF Africa Regional Office is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position of Procurement Specialist.

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement of goods and services and supporting improvement in logistics and procurement functions.

    Education

    • Post graduate degree in any of the following: -Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management, or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Postgraduate diploma in Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS)
    • Membership of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management will be an added advantage

    Work Experience

    • Five (5) years relevant practical procurement experience
    • 8 years relevant experience in procurement and/or financial management, administration preferably in an NGO.
    • Understanding of the local market,local legislation related to contracts, suppliers, contractors and business requirements and tax regulations, legal aspects of contracting and contract management.
    • NGO experience preferred with thorough understanding of institutional donors’ policies relating to procurement
    • Forecasting; Project management; Logistics information systems; Business strategy; Supply and inventory management Supply and demand planning.

    Global Lead, Youth

    Division: Africa Regional Office
    Responsible to: Regional Director (dotted line to Director, Programme Delivery & Capacity Sharing)

    To reach this ambition for our organization, we are looking for a passionate, young driven individual to lead the operationalization and development of IPPF’s youth-centred framework ensuring youth involvement is fully mainstreamed in IPPF programming and structures. The qualified candidate will fill the position of Global Lead, Youth.

    JOB PURPOSE

    This individual will lead IPPF’s work globally on youth engagement and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) ensuring that a strategic, integrated approach maximises success in delivering on the outcomes and deliverables of the IPPF Strategic Framework 2016-2022.

    The role will lead on rolling out IPPF youth centred framework, ensuring youth involvement is fully mainstreamed in IPPF programming and structures, as well as supporting the advancement of IPPF’s work on all aspects of youth, including youth leadership, comprehensive sexuality education, advocacy and youth friendly services.

    As youth leader, the postholder will engage with stakeholders at all levels of the Federation, optimising new ways of working with a globally matrixed team to drive impact with and for young people across the globe.

    EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree or equivalent standard of education essential –ideally in human rights,international development or relations, public policy, or other social sciences.
    • Qualifications in SRHR or youth related policy issues desirable

    Previous experience is important but not limiting in this role and IPPF is open to hiring on potential for the right candidate.

    Donor Relations & Partnerships Building

    Reports to: Lead Specialist: Grants Management and Proposal Writing

    JOB PURPOSE

    The post holder will be responsible for cultivating donor relations and maximizing revenue from all new and old donors while maintaining old and building new partnerships. S/he will contribute to the overall increase of IPPFAR revenue while playing a strategic stewardship role, ensuring that all donors to IPPFAR receive appropriate stewardship and understand the impact of their giving.

    EDUCATION

    Master’s Degree in Social Sciences/International Development Studies, Business Administration and/or related fields

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • At least seven years relevant experience and proven track record in networking and fundraising with familiarity in international and domestic funders across health and human development sectors, including but not limited to World Bank, DFID, UN agencies, European bilateral, and private foundations and corporations funding health and human development activities
    • Knowledge of Non-governmental Organization (NGO)business development process activities required.
