    Radio Programmes Manager

    RE: RAD/01/10/2021

    The Role:

    Reporting to the Managing Director, the Radio Programmes Manager will be responsible for providing direction in the implementation of strategic goals and objectives of the Radio Programmes Department to ensure quality production and transmission of independent and impartial broadcasting services of information, education and entertainment in radio broadcasting in English and Kiswahili and in such other languages that the Corporation may decide.

    Specific Terms:

    Three (3) years renewable contract subject to good performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Providing leadership in the interpretation and enforcement of the Corporation’s strategies, policies and guidelines to ensure achievement of the objectives of Radio Services Department
    • Overseeing the implementation of independent and impartial radio broadcasting services of information, education and entertainment in English, Kiswahili and any other languages as the Corporation may decide
    • Planning, regulating and controlling the content and balance of all radio broadcasts by the Corporation
    • Advising the Management on matters relating to packaging and delivery of radio content in broadcasting services in the Corporation
    • Ensuring radio broadcasting services are conducted with impartial attention to the interests and susceptibilities of the different communities in Kenya
    • Developing mechanisms for the continuous improvement in the quality and value of products and services
    • Formulating and approving all programme and station strategic plans, rosters and duty allocation
    • Vetting and approving radio services concepts, proposals, pilots and properties based on budget projections, value and relevance of the idea, its conformity to Editorial policy and station style as well as availability of required resources
    • Ensuring qualitative and quantitative production of radio programmes and services within the department
    • Interpreting and analyzing the audience research surveys and recommend remedial action
    • Ensuring compliance with the Constitution of Kenya and all statutory, legal and regulatory requirements
    • Responsible for the overall discipline, mentorship and performance of staff in the Department
    • Participating in the implementation of the performance management system in the Department
    • Budgeting, reviewing and controlling departmental budgets.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Educational Requirements

    • Master’s degree in Communication Studies, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or Journalism or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized institution

    Professional Requirements

    • Diploma in Radio Production, Mass Communication or Broadcast Journalism
    • Strategic leadership or Senior Management Course will be an added advantage
    • Must be a registered member of a recognized and regulated professional body
    • A high level of computer proficiency

    Minimum Experience

    • At least ten (10) years relevant working experience
    • Must have served in a senior managerial position for at least seven (7) years in a reputable radio station and large media house
    • Must be conversant with contemporary and future trends, market dynamics and competitive landscape of the broadcast media industry
    • Demonstrable ability to develop and execute strategic  plans and coordination of workflows
    • High energy and creativity; good communication, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills.

    Finance Manager, Kenya Health System Strengthening Project

    RE: F&ADM/01/10/2021

    The Role:

    Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager, the job holder will be responsible for overall financial and management accounting of the Corporation. The role entails implementation of sound internal control systems, daily reporting, analysing targets and trends, budget planning and monitoring, and cash flow management. He/She will also support the executive management team by offering insights that will help in making the best financial decision.

    Specific Terms:

    Three (3) years renewable contract subject to good performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Overseeing operations of the Finance division, setting goals and objectives, and designing frameworks for achieving the set goals
    • Managing the preparation of the Corporation’s budget
    • Maintaining the financial health of the Corporation
    • Providing financial reports and interpreting financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action
    • Analyzing costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the Corporation’s actual performance compared to the business plans
    • Advising on investment activities and providing strategies that the Corporation should take
    • Developing trends and projections for the Corporation’s finances
    • Seeking out methods for minimizing financial risks to the Corporation
    • Conducting reviews, monitoring and evaluation of expenditures for identification of cost-reduction opportunities
    • Responsible for production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial statements
    • Liaising with Auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring and auditing of the Corporation’s finances and resolution of audit queries
    • Enforcing reconciliation of clients’ accounts and ensuring proper creditors’ accounts management and payments
    • Responsible for proper accountability, maintenance and safe custody of all financial records.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Master’s degree in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized institution will be an added advantage

    Professional Requirements

    • CPA (K) Final or ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification
    • Must be a registered member of ICPAK or any other related professional body
    • A high level of computer proficiency and competency in working with an ERP systems

    Minimum Experience

    • Seven (7) years of work experience, with at least four (4) years in managerial position Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines
    • Leadership and management skills
    • High integrity and good business judgement
    • Analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

    Chief Security Officer

    RE: F&ADM /02/10/2021

    The Role:

    Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager, the job holder will be responsible for developing and overseeing policies and programs used in mitigating or reducing compliance, operational, strategic and financial security risks relating to staff, clients, assets and other properties. The function is not only limited to physical security but also includes the Corporation’s digital or electronic security requirements.

    Specific Terms:

    Three (3) years renewable contract subject to good performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Developing occupational health and safety guidelines for staff, clients and Corporation’s assets
    • Undertaking security surveys, inspections and threat assessments
    • Updating of emergency procedures and contingency planning
    • Coordinating security matters with Government security agencies
    • Collecting and analyzing of security intelligence reports
    • Assisting in providing of efficient and effective support services i.e. office, transport, telephone services etc
    • Recommending technological innovations to enhance security surveillance
    • Developing appropriate budget and contolling expenditure for the Section
    • Responsible for the security and safety of the Corporation’s staff, visitors, physical assets, equipment and classified information.

     Minimum Requirements:

     Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management/ Business/ Public Administration/ Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Master’s degree in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized institution will be an added advantage

    Professional Requirements

    • Diploma in Security Management/ Business Administration/ Public Administration / Social Sciences
    • Must be a member of a registered and regulated professional body
    • A high level of computer proficiency
    • Certificate of good conduct

    Minimum Experience

    • At least five (5) years of work experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position
    • Good interpersonal, analytical, communication skills and problem solving skills
    • High integrity and strong work ethics.

    Controller of Programmes

    RE: TVD/01/10/2021 

    The Role:

    Reporting to the Television Programmes Manager, the job holder(s) will be responsible for coordinating the production of all local content, and liaising with programming and design to attain high quality content for the Corporation.

     Key Responsibilities:                                                                                 

    • Planning, coordinating and managing content on the Channel’s operations
    • Conceiving, validating and implementing the Channel’s growth strategy
    • Developing programme schedules and talents to attract and retain audiences
    • Preparing performance reports and updating management on onwards trends and taking initiatives to drive numbers
    • Managing, mentoring, guiding and appraising staff attached to the Channel
    • Initiating, interpreting and implementing approved management policies and decisions.

    Minimum Requirements:

     Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication /Broadcast Journalism /Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Master’s degree in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized institution will be an added advantage

    Professional Requirements

    • Diploma in TV Production, Mass Communication or Broadcast Journalism
    • Must be a member of a registered and regulated professional body
    • A high level of computer proficiency

    Minimum Experience

    • At least six (6) years of work experience in TV Production with at least three (3) years in a supervisory position
    • Good understanding of the media industry
    • Creativity and innovativeness
    • Supervisory and interpersonal skills
    • Self driven and a strong team player
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
