    Manager, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management

    Job Summary

    The Manager, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management will manage and optimize CAPEX and OPEX Procurement and Supply Chain operations; and will procure OPEX (Medical and Non-Medical) and CAPEX (Medical and Non-Medical) for Hospital, University, Outreach and for any other site that the institute directs. S/he will manage the PSCMD inventory locations and control item movement into and from the department.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure accurate transactions and purchase order approvals as per approval matrix.
    • Lead the teams in ensuring that the users’ supplies requirements are met.
    • Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained within stocking locations at MMD.
    • Monitor hospital wide inventory levels and alert users on high inventory levels.
    • Sign-off on month end and stock take reports.
    • Co-ordinate the quarterly stock count and submit the variance explanations to Finance.
    • Lead the team in ensuring timely submission of supplier invoices to Finance.
    • Define responsibilities and functions of subordinate positions and assist in establishing staff requirements and scheduling.
    • Guide coordinators in review and development of policies and standard operating procedures.
    • Work collaboratively with users and supply chain leadership to develop and maintain processes designed to ensure quality service delivery.
    • Lead the team in development and implementation of quality improvement programs in the supply chain function.
    • Coach the team members on JCIA, ISO and Quality Systems departmental compliance.
    • Prepare reports on Key Performance Indicators and complete data requests.
    • Liaise with ICT for PSCMD’s information needs and with Finance during internal and external audits.
    • Perform corrective action for system errors experienced by users.
    • Facilitate departmental leave approval and oversee the system’s master functions, all user creation requests and mark-up due to change in purchase costs.

     Requirements

    • Master’s degree (an additional diploma/ degree in Supply Chain Management would be an added advantage);
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an equivalent role;
    • Should have led a team of minimum 5-7 executives and at least one Assistant Manager;
    • Demonstrable experience in the implementation and support of information systems.
    • Experience in supply chain or logistics and operations in a busy setup.
    • Commendable leadership, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

    Associate – Students’ Finance Accountant

    The University is looking to recruit a students’ finance accountant on a fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and collecting dues from the students and corporates of the Aga Khan University accordingly the institutional policies and procedure.     Responsibilities

    • Maintain students’ financial record in the Student Financial System
    • Develop weekly and monthly schedules of student and corporate receivables
    • Invoice and communicate to students and corporate clients the relevant fees as they fall due and ensure timely collection of dues
    • Assist in the reduction of overall receivable amounts to acceptable levels
    • Coordinate analysis of delays on collections and proposal of remedial action
    • Maintain comprehensive monthly reconciliation of student and corporate client accounts and sending out timely client statements on a monthly basis
    • Resolve / respond to students and corporate client queries on time, while liaising with the different AKU schools in regards to the queries
    • Handling disputed debt and negotiating to bring payment within the agreed terms

    • Facilitate the participant consenting process for the NeuroDev study;
    • Coordinate collecting of sociodemographic and phenotype data, using research electronic data capture software;
    • Coordinate collecting of blood and saliva samples, while ensuring proper storage and transport;
    • Manage study-specific research staff s assigned to the hospital under this study;
    • Foster good working relations with hospital’s nursing, clinical team, and other support departments;
    • Be willing to participate in continuous medical education (CME) activities in mental/neurological health care.

     Requirements

    • A clinical degree, either Medical Degree or BSc. in Nursing. A master’s degree is preferable;
    • Demonstrated research experience in carrying out research studies in medical or public health;
    • At least 1 years’ experience in clinical care/ nursing;
    • Flexibility; able to work extra hours when needed;
    • Ability to work with vulnerable populations such as those with neurological or mental health disorders;

    • Building effective communication strategies with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues to ensure that information exchanges are timely, accurate and useful
    • Reporting progress to donors and ensuring that grants are acquitted in a timely manner and as per their specification
