    Nursing in Charge (2 Positions)

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Nurse in Charge is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic. Delegates assignments and provides supervision for the nursing & support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity. Works in cooperation with medical providers to ensure the quality of patient care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervising and ensuring delivery of a professional and high standard of nursing care within the section while leading a team of nurses and customer service assistants in delivering individual and team targets.
    • Monitor and ensure clients satisfaction and proactively manage their complaints as they arise as well as ensuring collection of patient feedback and its analysis.
    • Review and ensure that nursing care plans are scientific, evidence based and address the priority needs of the patients.
    • Engage with doctors and other care providers regarding patients’ plan of care and care solutions with emphasis on a team-based problem-solving approach to provide unified approach to patient care.
    • Maintaining the inventory of all assets in the section and ensuring minimal stock of consumables and drugs is maintained in the section sub stores.
    • Ensure real time billing of procedures and accurate transfer of consumables from pharmacy stocks.

    Registered Nurse

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Nurse will be responsible for ensuring quality care within the clinic and must adhere to Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies, protocols, procedures and standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure proper inventory of the available equipment on a daily basis and ensure that they are in good working condition. Report any malfunction to the Branch Manager
    • Maintain and enforce infection control standards per the Avenue policies and observe the infection control bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI and CLABSI) where applicable.
    • Ensure patients safety following the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs) (patient identification, effective communication, safety of high alert medication, ensure correct site procedure and surgery, reduce the risk of healthcare associated infections, reduce the risk of patient harm resulting from falls)

    Radio Sonographer(4 Positions)

    Job Objective/Purpose

    Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in line with the hospital policies and procedures

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform imaging procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care while ensuring client satisfaction.
      • Processing and printing of quality and appropriate images to assist in diagnosis.
      • Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of consumables for cost-effectiveness.
      • Producing timely and accurate results in line with Imaging SOPs
      • To ensure real time billing of all procedures has been done before they are carried out.
      • Accurate identification and preparation of the client prior to imaging procedures

    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Pharmaceutical Technologist will be responsible for ensuring provision of high quality laboratory diagnostic services in the clinic as defined by Avenue Healthcare’s policies, protocols, procedures and standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the Pharmacy has the necessary equipment and ensure that they are in good working condition.
    • All processed drug orders should be checked, and counter signed by the nurse and the Pharm-Tech
    • Ensure that all insurances exclusion lists are adhered to.
    • Ensure that the Pharmacy is well stocked as per the set re-order levels. Do daily counts, spot counts, monthly stock takes and give a timely, accurate report with valid explanation on variances and expiries to the Branch Manager.
    • Prevention of medication errors by counter checking and verifying the prescription/ treatment sheets on doses, allergies, patient identification, right drug, legibility and give clear usage instructions.
    • DDA to be dispensed as per the laid down policy, checked weekly and any discrepancies reported to the Branch Manager.
    • Drugs/surgical items expiry management.
    • Record and report all sentinel incidents/events to the Branch Manager within 24 hours using the provided tools.
    • Maintain and enforce infection control standards when doing extemporaneous preparations.
    • Ensure client satisfaction through high quality of service, effective communication, prompt feedback and escalation of any unresolved issues to the relevant person for follow up.
