    Branch Manager

    Business Purpose/Objective:   

    • Responsible for providing and maintaining high standards of professional care to all clients while ensuring consistent provision of efficient and ethical care to support it in achieving quality health service delivery. Responsible for the critical balance of the hospital between offering high quality care and maintaining profitability and sustainability.

    Education        

    • Hold a diploma or degree in any medical field and from a recognized university/ (medical training) college. 
    • Hold an active License from relevant Medical Body. Business or health systems degree is an added advantage.

    Experience     

    • Position holder should have at least 5 years’ experience in working as licensed medical personnel and hold a leadership position in a busy health facility.

    Knowledge and Skills Requirement

    • Excel in people management especially in leading organizations through change management.
    • Experienced in linking strategy to operational execution by using data to drive practice.
    • Comfortable with failing fast and pivoting. Testing new ideas and helping them scale needs one to be comfortable in operating complex, uncertain and evolving environments.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • Directing and implementing adherence to Jacaranda code of conduct, policies/procedures, and performance of assigned staff;
    • Monitoring staff compliance to customer service;
    • 24 Hour accountability and authority for decisions regarding patient care, site operations and personnel management for the facility.

    Execution expert:

    • Lead the execution of the strategies developed in collaboration with the senior management this includes streamlining operations to set them up for success;
    • The BM will directly lead the operations and clinical team and will provide leadership and guidance to clinical and operations coordinators.

    Data driven change agent:

    • Working in collaboration with the Quality Improvement Lead to Conduct deep dives into branch activities and operations to identify improvement areas, developing work plans for change and coordinating team leads to achieve these goals;
    • Evaluating complex data sets to improve patient, financial and care processes and outcomes;
    • Develop and track team leads to meet their KPIs and ensure the Branch is meeting its commitment to uncompromising quality;
    • Maintain departmental standards of Quality.

    Budget Responsibility:

    • Project anticipated volume and demand for each department, conducts cost analysis, analyzes and monitors budget reports and variances;
    • Evaluate human and materials resource utilization and makes necessary adjustments;
    • Collaborates with finance manager to develop annual budgets for the facility;
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist

    Business Purpose/Objective  

    The job holder will be expected to provide quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology services to both outpatients and inpatients; and assist in ensuring smooth operations in the clinical department and contribute positively to business strategy. 

    Education        

    • MMed in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognized institution.
    • Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners' and Dentists' Board.
    • Registered, licenced and retained by the Kenya Medical Practitioners Board.

    Experience     

    • Post graduate working experience in a busy maternity facility.

    Knowledge and Skills Requirements   

    • Should have the desire and ability to enhance the scope of maternal health services in order to meet and exceed the expectation of the customer.
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Ability to positively influence and nurture teamwork.

    What You Will Do

    Clinical Duties

    • Monitoring and providing appropriate medical and surgical care to patients;
    • Managing of clients for reproductive health both in the inpatient and outpatient;
    • Admitting patients requiring special care followed by investigations and treatment; Carrying out specific procedures, e.g. performing operations and specialist investigations;
    • Overseeing clinical practice of clinical colleagues and ensuring high level of patient safety, quality, and efficiency;
    • Adhering to Jacaranda clinical protocols and standards of care and supporting these practices across the organization;

    Quality Assurance

    • Actively participate in regular meetings to assess quality and safety;
    • Lead and/or assist with campaigns and projects for improvement;
    • Assist with developing standards, protocols, and procedures;
    • Provide clinical expertise and structured continuing medical education to staff;
    • Participate in clinical or operational meetings which require input of a consultant OB/GYN staff;

    Business and People Management

    • Attend standing management meetings and represent the company externally as required;
    • Contribute to overall business strategy development and implementation;
    • Assist with scheduling OB/GYN coverage as required;
    • Provide mentorship and manage performance of assigned staff;
    • Endeavour to suggest new initiatives to aid the efficient provision of Medical Services;

    Financial

    • Ensure the efficient use of resources in medical services;
    • Efficient use of diagnostic and pharmacy resources;
    • Must endeavour to provide medical services within budget, you will consult with the Chief  Executive Officer and the Senior Management team regularly, as to the use of medical,  nursing and/or hospital resources;
    • Provide reports and contribute to the planning, budgeting and development of the medical service.

    Personal Education and Research

    • Continue to keep abreast with trends, developments and the appropriate utilization of  technology in the field of medical care on a regular and ongoing basis;
    • Participate in available educational sessions on topics such as clinical budgeting, medical  audit, performance appraisal and quality control;
    • Participate in journal review with clinical staff;
    • Study medical literature and other resource material on a regular basis;
    • Attendance at local post-graduate meetings/Continuous Medical education programmes as expected;
    • Any other duties as assigned.
