    Industrial Engineer (IE) Officer

    Key Duties/Responsibilities:

    Method Study & Process Improvement

    • Analyze garment operations and establish standardized methods for each style.
    • Develop operation breakdowns and motion studies to eliminate non-value-adding activities.
    • Recommend improved handling methods, machine attachments, and workstation layouts.
    • Implement best sewing practices to reduce fatigue and improve productivity.

    Time Study & Target Setting

    • Conduct time and motion studies for all operations.
    • Establish Standard Minute Values (SMV) for garment styles.
    • Set and monitor production targets for operators and lines based on SMV and line capacity.
    • Track daily line performance against established targets.

    Line Balancing & Efficiency Improvement

    • Balance production lines to minimize bottlenecks and idle time.
    • Coordinate with line supervisors to ensure optimal operator allocation.
    • Conduct capacity and efficiency analyses to support production planning.
    • Lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities to enhance performance.

    Production Planning & Follow-Up

    • Assist in planning line layouts for new styles and changeovers.
    • Monitor actual production versus planned output and analyze variances.
    • Provide real-time feedback to production and quality teams to meet targets.
    • Support pilot runs and pre-production meetings with relevant teams.

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Maintain daily efficiency, target achievement, and downtime records.
    • Generate reports on manpower utilization, machine efficiency, and productivity trends.
    • Support management with cost-saving and performance improvement analyses.

    Key Outputs/Deliverables/KPIs:

    • Line Efficiency: ≥ 80% weekly achievement of planned output.
    • SMV Accuracy: ≤ 5% variance between estimated and actual SMV (monthly).
    • Operator Productivity: ≥ 95% of target pieces produced per operator per hour (weekly).
    • Line Balancing Efficiency: ≥ 90% line balance achieved weekly.
    • Style Changeover Time: ≤ 1 day to stabilize new styles.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Production, or Textile Technology.
    • 2–5 years’ experience as an Industrial Engineer in garment manufacturing.
    • Practical knowledge of line balancing, SMV calculation, and capacity study.

    Trainee Technician

    Key Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of garment production machinery and equipment.
    • Support senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical faults.
    • Conduct daily machine checks and report abnormalities promptly.
    • Learn and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records.
    • Ensure tools and spare parts are properly handled, stored, and accounted for.
    • Observe safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Participate in technical training sessions and demonstrate progressive skill improvement.
    • Assist in machine calibration and adjustment for different styles or production requirements.
    • Maintain logs of work performed and spare parts used.
    • Report to the Maintenance Supervisor on progress and issues identified during shifts.

    Key Outputs/Deliverables/KPIs:

    • Preventive Maintenance Support: 100% compliance with planned maintenance schedule (monthly).
    • Response Time to Machine Breakdown: Assistance within 15 minutes after a breakdown is reported (weekly).
    • Machine Downtime: Contribute to keeping downtime below 5% (monthly).
    • Safety Compliance: 100% adherence to PPE and maintenance safety procedures (continuous).
    • Record Keeping: Accurate and complete maintenance logs and reports (monthly).

    Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
    • Basic knowledge of garment machinery is an added advantage.

    Trainee Costing Officer

    Key Duties/Responsibilities:

    Cost Data Collection & Analysis

    • Gather cost data from production, procurement, and stores departments.
    • Record material, trims, and accessory consumption per style.
    • Assist in analyzing labor costs per operation and Standard Minute Value (SMV).

    Cost Sheet Preparation

    • Support in preparing preliminary cost sheets under supervision.
    • Update cost breakdowns (fabric, trims, accessories, labor, and overheads).
    • Maintain accurate costing records for all product lines.

    Sampling & Development Support

    • Collaborate with the sample room to verify consumption and production time.
    • Track and document design or material changes that impact cost.

    Price Quotation Support

    • Assist in preparing price quotations based on approved costing templates.
    • Learn to calculate margins and style profitability.

    Coordination

    • Liaise with production, procurement, and planning teams to collect and validate cost data.
    • Ensure all cost sheets are verified and approved by the Costing Officer before submission.

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Maintain organized costing files for all orders and samples.
    • Prepare daily and weekly costing progress reports.

    Continuous Learning

    • Participate in on-the-job training on garment costing, SMV calculation, and efficiency analysis.
    • Gain an understanding of garment construction, fabric types, trims, and production processes.

    Key Outputs/Deliverables/KPIs:

    • Cost Sheet Accuracy: ≥ 95% accuracy compared to actual production costs (monthly).
    • Turnaround Time for Costing: ≤ 2 working days after sample receipt (weekly).
    • Data Collection Efficiency: 100% completion of material and labor data per style (weekly).
    • Cost Variance Analysis: Reports submitted within 48 hours of variance identification (monthly).
    • Documentation & Record Keeping: No missing files; complete costing records maintained (monthly).

    Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Textile Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems is an added advantage.
