    Assistant-Lecturer-Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine

    Tasks and responsibility

    • Participate in the training and assessment of learning of Learning students including:
    • Preparing and uploading lesson plans and related teaching, learning and assessment materials for assigned lessons Planning and conducting lectures
    • Planning and conducting tutorials
    • Planning and conducting Skills lab sessions
    • Assessing students' performance
    • Mentor, guide and advice students in their learning and development of professional behaviour
    • Generally, participate in any other activities related tplanning, implementation and evaluation of
    • teaching and learning for respective department's students in the college.
    • Contribute tother activities related trespective department's services and training of senior students. Participate in research with guidance of senior lecturers.
    • Guide and support mentors, tutors, interns, student facilitators and other junior staff supporting the learning of students.

    Required competencies

    • Competent professional with technical skills and up tdate knowledge ttrain students in fields related trespective department's
    • Good team player
    • Interested in the development and support of young adults.
    • Good oral English and Kiswahili and excellent written English language skills
    • Competent oral and verbal communicator while working with individuals and teams.
    • Excellent computer skills with good mastery of MS office applications

    Required education and experience

    • A Higher diploma in Medical education/Health professional education
    • 2 years' experience in providing health care services. Registered and in good standing with KESOTT

    Assistant Lecturer Community Health and Development

    Tasks and responsibility

    • Participate in the training and assessment of learning of senior (2nd & 3rd year) students including:  
    • Preparing and uploading skills session training materials
    • Planning and conducting skills sessions
    • Preparing assessment materials
    • Planning and conducting skill assessments
    • Maintenance of skills lab equipment
    • Assessing student performance
    • Ability to manage and mentor learners
    • Monitoring and evaluating skills session
    • Mentor, guide and advice students in their learning and development of professional behaviour Generally, participate in any other activities related to planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching and learning for first year certificate and diploma students in the college.
    • Contribute to other aspects of training of community health students, community health healthcare
    • service provision, and training of first year students including but not limited to community health students •Participate in research with guidance of senior lecturers.
    • Guide and support mentors, tutors, interns, student facilitators and other junior staff supporting the learning of students.

    • Competent community health worker with up-to-date knowledge and good technical and generic skills in community health
    • Good team player
    • Interested in the development and support of young healthcare professionals
    • Good oral English and Kiswahili and excellent written English language skills

    Clinical Instructor

    • Support and mentor students at the clinical/attachment area.
    • Ensure student participate in ward rounds, fill in logbooks and portfolio.
    • sching students when making analysis and reflecting on their personal and professional development,
    • Referring the student to study trainers/study advisors, if necessary.
    • Assessment of portfolios
    • Teach and mentor students regarding Generic skills, Professional behaviour, Workplace etiquettes. work as hospital staff for 2 days and support student as clinical mentor for 3 days in a week.
