    Occupation Safety and Health Officer (OSH OFFICER)

    Reporting to OSH Supervisor

    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate, support and advise the Business on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety. To manage and monitor standards,processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the Group are adhered to.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
    • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
    • Assist in developing and implementing functional strategies to ensure that the Company’s resources, both human and physical, operate in a safe and healthy environment.
    • Ensure that all accidents and near miss are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
    • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work operations and equipment.
    • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
    • Ensure full and accurate departmental safety and training records are maintained.
    • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

    Person Specification

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ Degree/Diploma in health and safety,
    • Environmental studies or Science based studies.
    • Professional training and accreditation will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • At least 2 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role

    SKILLS AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES

    • Knowledge of a discipline/function e.g. Health, safety and environment
    • Ability to co-ordinate with those of other areas.
    • Translates overall Group plans into operations plans
    • Ability to make decisions under situation of uncertainty
    • Excellent knowledge of OSHA laws and subsidiary legislations.
    • Flexible and co-operative at all times
    • An assertive but calm demeanor
    • Self-motivated

    Driver

    Reporting to Transport Supervisor

    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The purpose of this role is to provide reliable driving services by using assigned transport means for the transport of authorized staff members, officials, visitors, goods, documents, mail and other items.

    Accountabilities

    • Maintain all safety and security measures to all vehicles.
    • On a daily basis, check level of motor oil, water, tyre pressure, battery water and brakes to ensure that all are in working order on a daily basis.
    • Ensure that the assigned vehicle insurance policy is valid and observe proper procedure for insurance claims are followed in the event of an accident
    • Ensure that vehicle keys and documents are kept in a secure place when the vehicle is not in use
    • Following route and time schedules.
    • Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating delivery vehicles.
    • Getting feedback on services provided and resolving clients’ complaints.
    • Informing management on new products and services that are relevant to the Group’s interests.
    • Completing logs and reports. 
    • Any other lawful duties as assigned by your supervisor

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • KCSE D (Plain)
    • Valid driving license of class BCE.
    • Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized institution will be an added advantage

    Experience

    3 years’ relevant experience

    • Good command of English both oral and written.
    • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
    • Good planning and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex and diverse tasks.

    Truck Driver

    Accountant - Payables

    REPORTING TO: PAYABLES SUPERVISOR

    OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    This role is responsible for ensuring that the company expenses are recorded accurately within the specific period they relate to as well as ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments. It entails smooth running of daily operations and checking that expenses are within budget.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Invoice processing and ensuring 100% accuracy in posting of invoice amounts, taxes, dates and invoice numbers
    • Recording of expenses accurately in the correct GLs by period closure
    • Processing and making statutory payments within the statutory deadlines.
    • Payment processing within set out timelines with zero returned/failed payments
    • Review of allocated Expense GLs at the end of every month to ensure ALL expenses are recorded and that they are within the budget line.
    • Advising the business on opportunities for cost cutting.
    • Maintaining good record keeping; ensure zero cases of misplaced documents; quick document retrieval and adherence to the filing system
    • Proper management of working relationships with vendors/suppliers, banks, statutory bodies as well as internal staff and user departments.
    • Maintenance of a professional but cordial and positive working relationship with suppliers through quick turnaround on supplier queries and escalating issues where necessary
    • Supporting user departments and acting as the liaison between the company and vendors all payment matters.
    • Timely completion of supplier recons within the set timelines
    • Timely completion of GL control schedules recons within the given timelines
    • Proper management of unallocated balances and accurate balances reflected at the sub leger level Audit support

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
    • CPA (K)

    Experience

    • 2 years plus in Accounts Payables
    • Thorough knowledge of Excel and SAP ERP
