    Training Expert

    The training expert will be responsible for developing, organizing, and overseeing training initiatives focused on promoting safe and efficient cooking methods and technologies. This includes identifying training needs, creating curriculum, delivering training sessions, and evaluating program effectiveness. They would also be involved in logistical tasks like scheduling, resource management, and ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development:

    • Conducting needs assessments to identify specific training requirements related to clean cooking technologies, safety practices, and related topics. 
    • Developing comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, and visual aids, tailored to different audiences (e.g., artisans, CBOs, distributors, community members, energy officers, community health promoters). 
    • Designing training programs that incorporate practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and interactive sessions to ensure effective learning. 

    Training Delivery and Logistics:

    • Organizing and coordinating training sessions, including scheduling, venue selection, and material preparation. 
    • Delivering training sessions effectively, using engaging and participatory teaching methods. 
    • Ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all participants, adhering to safety protocols and best practices. 
    • Managing training logistics, including participant registration, resource allocation, and communication with stakeholders. 

    Evaluation and Reporting:

    • Developing and implementing evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs. 
    • Collecting and analyzing data on participant knowledge, skills, and behaviour changes related to clean cooking practices. 
    • Preparing reports on training outcomes, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. 

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders, partner organizations, and government agencies, to ensure alignment and support for the training program. 
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trainers, facilitators, and other key individuals involved in the training process. 

    Program Promotion and Sustainability:

    • Developing and implementing strategies to promote the training program and encourage participation. 
    • Contributing to the development of proposals and fundraising efforts to support the long-term sustainability of the program. 
    • Identifying opportunities for scaling up the training program and reaching a wider audience. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., renewable energy, environmental science, wood science, education, etc). 
    • Atleast 5 years of work experience in developing and delivering training programs, particularly in the context of clean cooking, energy access, or related fields. 
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. 
    • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for training material development and data analysis. 
    • Experience working with diverse communities and cultures.

    Advocacy & County Coordination Officer

    The Advocacy and County Coordination Officer will play a vital role in driving the adoption of clean cooking solutions by advocating for supportive policies, raising awareness, and building partnerships to create a more sustainable and equitable energy future. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    Developing and Implementing Advocacy Strategies:

    • The Advocacy and County Coordination Officer will create and execute plans to influence policy and practice related to clean cooking, often focusing on specific regions or target groups. 

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, private sector actors, community leaders, and the public, is crucial. 

    Raising Awareness:

    • The Advocacy and County Coordination Officer will organize events, develop communication materials, and leverage media to educate the public about the importance of clean cooking and its positive impact. 

    Capacity Building:

    • In some cases, the role may involve strengthening the capacity of local partners, including grassroots organizations and government agencies, to implement and advocate for clean cooking solutions. 

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Tracking progress against advocacy goals, collecting data, and evaluating the effectiveness of advocacy efforts is also a key responsibility. 

    Promoting Clean Cooking Technologies:

    • The Advocacy and County Coordination Officer may also be involved in promoting specific technologies, such as improved cookstoves, biogas systems, or other clean cooking solutions. 

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Education:

    • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., political science, international relations, social science, environmental studies, public health, or a related field) is usually required. 

    Experience:

    • A strong track record in advocacy, policy influencing, or related fields is essential, with atleast two years of continuous work experience on issues related to energy, environment, or public health. 

    Communication Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital for engaging with diverse audiences and crafting compelling advocacy messages. 

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders is crucial. 

    Knowledge of the Clean Cooking Sector:

    • Familiarity with the clean cooking landscape, including technologies, policies, and market dynamics, is often preferred. 

    Project Management Skills:

    • The ability to plan, implement, and manage advocacy projects, including budgets and timelines, is essential. 

    Analytical Skills:

    • The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop evidence-based advocacy strategies is important.
