    Senior Programme Manager

    Candidate requirements

    • Masters’ degree in a relevant area (eg. public policy, education, international development)
    • 7+ years professional experience in a relevant field
    • A commitment to improving education quality for all children
    • Significant professional experience in international development or international consulting, including experience in leading the design and delivery of projects. Direct experience in global education is preferable but not strictly required.
    • Experience working directly with governments and the public policy process in low- or middle-income countries
    • Excellent relationship management skills especially with senior officials in government and non-government institutions
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and ‘bring people along’ a decision making process
    • A strong track record in complex, end to end, project management, particularly in in low- or middle-income countries
    • Excellent written communication and presentation skills in English
    • Experience in analysing and interpreting data, including familiarity with research and evaluation methodologies
    • Experience in leading and managing small and agile teams.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a sense of humility and willingness to work with diverse team members, often remotely

    Senior Consultant (6months)

    Specifically, the consultant will:

    • Contribute to new programme design, and bring best practice and evidence to bear
    • Quality assure programme implementation plans in collaboration with partners and in line with set objectives, performance measurements, standards and results expected to ensure timely and partner-oriented service delivery.
    • Monitor and supervise the timely and cost-effective implementation of the programme according to EPG goals and partner expectations, approved budget, and full cost recovery.
    • Provide project portfolio oversight providing backstopping for quality implementation delivery.
    • Support Project Managers in planning, execution, and delivery of allocated projects, ensuring incorporation of best practice project management processes.
    • Support in knowledge management and innovation for implementation and future programming
    • Support in partner management including funders and senior government officials

    Consultant specifications:
    Essential:

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise work and work to a tight deadline
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven experience in delivering projects to time, scope, and budget
    • Understanding of the international development/not-for-profit sector
    • Excellent IT skills

    Desirable:

    • Experience in the low- and middle-income countries
    • Experience in education sector and systems level programming
    • Working knowledge of French language
