Duties for the Manuscript Writer Job

• Write an interesting fictional young adult’s manuscript that is adequately proofread to make it easier for the editors to do their work.
• Brainstorm ideas on the content of the book with other players in the company.
• Have the ability to connect with the youth.
• Travel across E. Africa marketing and selling books to the target market.
• Write the book within the duration provided by the company, although written manuscripts that are not yet published may be considered for publication.
• Work in harmony with other members of the company including editors, illustrators and marketers.

Manuscript Writer Job Qualifications

• Show proof of ability to write fictional stories.
• Have impeccable English writing skills.
• Have worked in the publishing industry, therefore able to market and sell books to schools and colleges, bookstores, street vendors across E. Africa and especially in Kenya.
• Be able to work with Microsoft 360 and other online applications of Google.
• Must be proficient in both Kiswahili and English, other local languages are a plus but not necessary.
• Be able to communicate on Skype and other online means like Imo, WhatsApp etc.
• Knows how to use the computer and has access to the internet.
