    ICT Associate - Jihusishe SMS Platform

    Job Details

    The ICT Associate will primarily ensure smooth end-user services in the implementation,maintenance and improvement of information management, systems, procedures and activities of the office. The post holder provides ICT support services to staff and to the administration function, and provides technical, operations and procedural support of all computer and related equipment.

    Required Qualifications and Skills

    • At least 2 years’ experience providing Information Communications Technology (ICT) and Administrative Support in a development context;
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology with Communications or any other relevant field.
    • Fluency in English and Kiswahili;
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment;
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
    • Experience working on SMS platforms – (short codes and USSD is an added advantage);
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Basic programming skills; PHP, HTML, JavaScript
    • Experience in Communications Strategy Development
    • Experience working in customer relations will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, such as SEO and email marketing.

    Job Details

    • General management of the Jihusishe platform:
      • Reading and replying subscriber messages on the Jihusishe SMS platform.
      • Answering support calls, SMS, email and online chats for Jihusishe platforms.
      • Liaising with Jihusishe partners to provide credible and up to date information on Jihusishe platforms.
        Create and conduct surveys on the Jihusishe platforms.
      • Generate reports from the data obtained from Jihusishe platforms.
    • Maintenance, Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting, focusing on the achievement of the following results:
      • Support JIHUSISHE staff in backing up and restoring their files, as well as in virus detection, removal and prevention. Supports networks administration, focusing on achievement of the following results:
      • Assistance in troubleshooting and monitoring of network problems. Response to user needs and questions regarding network access. Assistance in backup and restoration procedures for local drives.
      • Quarterly upgrade and change of passwords for both online and offline platforms.
    • Maintenance of backup logs. Developing a local and external backup and restoration procedures for the server, local drives.
      • Analyzing and evaluating the weaknesses of JIHUSISHE systems to security attacks, Assessment of security risks, detecting breaches of data security and ensuring preventive measures are put in place
    • Provides administrative support, focusing on achievement of the following results:
      • Maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of software and hardware. Maintenance of a library of ICT related reference materials and maintenance of the filing system ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials.
      • Research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources; preparation of statistical charts, tables and reports as required.
      • Provision of ICT support to key events.
    • Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the office, focusing on achievement of the following results:
      • Assist in identifying of learning gaps and coordinate the implementation of JIHUSISHE’s learning activities
      • Prepare detailed technical documentation, relevant user‐documentation and operational procedures.
    • Provide Support
      • Provide assistance on JIHUSISHE’s online platforms when called upon
    • Reporting
      • Produce and compile regular activity reports and updates on the implementation of the planned work activities.
      • Produce timely reports consistent with the monthly, quarterly and annual team reports.
      • Contribute to the documentation of overall project reports to meet JIHUSISHE strategic plans.
    • Learning and Impact
      • Contribute to the identification and documentation of best practices and lessons learned and share this knowledge with team members.
      • Identify and consolidate innovative communications practices.
      • Present JIHUSISHE communications work in local, national and international forums.
      • Build the capacity of/train JIHUSISHE staff in the use of JIHUSISHE communication / SMS systems.

    Communications Assistant - The Institute for Social Accountability

    Job Summary

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop specific communication plans.
    • Success story documentation: Work with the Programs team to develop success storiesfor wider dissemination to stakeholders.
    • In coordination with Program teams prepare and distribute information, education and communications material to target audiences.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly organizational newsletters.
    • Knowledge management: Ensure the TISA repository and shared folders are updated atleast on a monthly basis with all the necessary documents.
    • Contribute to building the TISA photo database/video library: Continuously highlight TISA interventions through photography and video documentation.
    • Develop written stories, photos and videos to support visibility, fundraising, PR, advocacy.
    • Contribute to the design, editing, branding formatting of reports, PowerPoint presentations, brochures and communication materials as assigned.
    • Media monitoring: Identify media opportunities to promote TISA’s programs.
    • Develop content for TISA social media accounts and update TISA’s website and socialmedia platforms. Track queries by the public and news media in a timely manner.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation: Contribute to programs report development.
