As a member of the Supply & Logistics Team, you will be required to manage the planning and execution of all Imports and Exports of consumables and equipment for Base Titanium Kwale operations.
The main duties will include but are not limited to:
Coordinating overseas purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries and evaluate supplier and clearing agent performance
Ensuring efficient and timely overseas inland & local cartage, international sea and air freight, customs clearances and deliveries to Site
Liaising with third party providers including freight forwarders, customs brokers and haulage companies for high service delivery
Ensuring cost conscious planning and execution of shipments
Liaising with relevant government authorities in obtaining customs related exemptions
Managing all third party logistics providers to ensure they deliver to a high level of service
To succeed you will require:
A high sense of urgency
A committed and positive attitude to safety
An ability to successfully work as part of a team
A tertiary qualification in Clearing/Logistics/Shipping
A sound and demonstrable understanding of Customs SIMBA, KENTRADE and KWATOs systems
An in depth understanding of shipping operations and Kenyan customs processes and exemption application procedures
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position
