    Chief Superintendent (electrical)

    Job purpose

    The Chief Superintendent (electrical) will be responsible to the Hospital Engineer for planning and implementation of electrical installations.
    Key responsibilities
    • Preparation of design drawings and specifications
    • Making estimates for electrical installations
    • Preparation of cost estimates and schedule of materials
    • Allocation of duties and supervision of Staff
    • Control of usage of materials
    • Inspection and maintenance of Electrical installations.
    • Commissioning, testing and maintenance of Electrical controls related to fire detection equipment, Cookers, water heaters and general domestic appliances,catering equipment, and low/medium voltage distribution systems
    • Participating in electrical system installation.
    • Supporting quality Assurance / OSHE initiatives in the Department
    • Prioritize purchases and ensuring proper specifications and standards.
    • Ensuring proper utilization of equipment and other consumables
    • Ensuring compliance with the set standard operating procedures
    • Prioritize purchases and ensure proper specifications and standards.Making weekly reports.
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
    • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Served in the grade of Senior Superintendent (Electrical) in the Public Service and/or accredited organisation for at least three (3) years.
    • Certificate of Proficiency in computer packages.
    • A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.
