    Data Entry Intern

    Job Summary

    To collect Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) and Viral Load (VL) data from source documents into EID and VL database. This will include the cleaning and analysis of EID and VL data.

    Responsibilities for the Data Entry Internships 

    • Real-time collecting, updating, cleaning and backup of the EID and VL database
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly EID and VL data reports
    • Ensure confidentiality of data collected
    • Assure protection of the systems and data by performing data backup as required
    • Dispatch lab results
    • Assist in monthly data quality analysis and report any trends that require intervention
    • Follow up field cases where there are complaints regarding results not received for samples sent
    • Capturing information from EID request forms for consumables needed by health facilities and ensuring that these items are sent out to the facilities.
    • Assist in accessioning of samples for EID and VL DBS into the database
    • Maintain a track and database of all trainings carried out by the program
    • Maintain an inventory for the PMTCT supplies; both received and dispatched from the program to the sites/health facilities

    Qualifications for the Data Entry Internships 

    • Diploma in Health Records or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • Working knowledge in handling medical records.
    • Strong computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Should be awaiting graduation or graduated within the last twelve months.
    • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Must have good reporting skills.
    • Ability to analyze data.
    • Should be a good team worker, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    Work Environment: Clinical Laboratory environment.

    Required: Hepatitis B Vaccination recorded in the international certificate of vaccinations booklet (Yellow Book) and Personal Insurance cover.

    Terms of Engagement: Six-months internship.
