    Qualifications for the Court Interpreters Job

    • Be in possession of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C(minus) with a C-(Minus) in
    • English & Kiswahili or its accepted equivalent;
    • Have school leaving certificate;
    • Have certification in Foreign Languages,
    • Have Braille and or Sign Languages (for sign language interpreters)
    • Be proficient in Computer applications; and
    • Have good personality and high integrity.

    Court Interpreters Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Interpretation of court proceedings in local languages mainly: Suba, Kuria, Somali, Nubian, Chonyi and
    • International languages mainly: Chinese, French, German and Sign Language;
    • Proof reading court proceedings;
    • Maintaining court diaries
    • Receiving, listing and securing exhibits; and
    • Ensuring security of files and exhibits.
