    Technical Advisor

    REF No.: REF: Amref/STA-YS/2017/01-002
    Location: Kisumu, Migori, Kakamega & Kitui Counties

    Main Purpose of Job

    The jobholder will work with the youth at community level to help identify their health needs and design interventions to ensure that they are able to access and utilize health services as well as promote the adoption of healthy behaviour.

    Will also work with county leaders to scale up effective strategies to provide SRH information and services to adolescents and youth where these services already exist.

    Qualifications for the Technical Advisor Job

    • Degree in Social Sciences
    • Ability to take initiative
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Analytical skills
    • Mature
    • 4 years progressive work experience in relevant field
    • Familiarity with the local culture and language will be highly desirable

    Technical Advisor Job Principal Responsibilities

    • Engaging with the Ministry of Youth at county level on youth matters
    • Setting up of Youth Advisory Boards at county and sub-county level
    • Planning and facilitating programs to address the particular issues young people face with regards to their health and general development.
    • Conducting youth dialogues and engagement at community level to identify the issues affecting the youth in relation to FP/RMNCAH and support the development and implementation of interventions to address them.
    • Acting as an advocate on youth matters and working closely with the relevant government departments to address them.
