    Programs, Health/HIV Graduate Intern

    Dimensions of the Role

    This job role provides a learning opportunity for the incumbent as they facilitate implementation of quality health, nutrition and HIV initiatives to improve well-being of OVC and their caregivers.

    Programs, Health/HIV Graduate Internship Responsibilities

    • Mentor and support service delivery partners (SDPs) to scale-up an evidence-based package of services and support that will promote family-centred, age appropriate, quality health services to households affected by HIV.
    • Facilitate partners in the implementation of the case management approach; focusing on longitudinal tracking of the HIV infected OVC and their families to ensure access to quality treatment and care services as per MOH guidelines.
    • Participate in relevant health technical working groups, CHMT meetings and ensure timely execution of the emerging issues in health focusing on the relevant beneficiary cohorts to ensure maximum impact.
    • Mentor SDPs to strengthen community facility linkages and improved referral systems to enhance synergy in service delivery and ensure effective coordination.
    • Work with SDPs and project staff to facilitate the implementation and tracking of highly effective Evidence
    • Based Interventions (EBIs), Prevention with positives (PWP)/ Positive, health, dignity and prevention (PHDP), and documentation of impact on target population.
    • Facilitate implementation of the ECCD health integration package of services and documentation of the same to ensure maximum impact.
    • Produce accurate and timely reports, case studies, and other publications to showcase project lessons, and results to contribute to the wider sector and institutional knowledge.
    • Collect and review data and other information relevant for monitoring project implementation, quality, and reporting.

    Qualifications for the Programs, Health/HIV Graduate Internship

    • Graduates from Kenyan universities/reputable colleges
    • Must have completed studies in a relevant field of study within the last 24 months.
    • Graduates who are below 25 years old and willing to commit their time on the program for the entire year
    • Demonstrated good character, creativity, honesty, positive attitude and ability to learn
    • Graduates who are currently not in employment
    • Diploma or degree in public health.
    • Work with various project stakeholders e.g. MoH, communities, OVCs, PLWHIV, GoK, County Governments
    • Work on various health interventions e.g. FANC, MNCH, malaria, nutrition
    • Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Documentation and report writing skills
