Job Responsibilities

• Taking client measurements and agreeing on style and fabric.
• Working out how much it will cost and how long it will take to make.
• Creating a design, either by hand or using computer software.
• Creating a new pattern or adapting an existing one.
• Cutting out fabric pieces, fitting the fabric again and marking any final adjustments.
• Stitching the garment as per the design using machine.
• Presenting the finished product to the client
• Accounting for Fabric use.

Qualifications

• Atleast 2 years experience in a busy tailoring workshop.
• Excellent number skills for measuring and costing.
• Attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of fabric types and their properties.
• Excellent hand-sewing and machining skills.
• Experience in pattern construction and cutting skills.
• Creativity and the ability to visualize designs.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent ability to maintain concentration, sometimes for long periods.
• Must have Physical and mental stamina.
• Knowledge of computer basics for understanding designing or interpreting patterns
• Must have sewing and design skills.
• Proven ability to stitch curtains, duvets, sheers, stitch cushions and any other apparel from scratch
• Willingness to work during weekends.
