Job description

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Anchoring newscasts/special projects as assigned
• Producing newscasts when needed
• Reporting in the field
• Writing for newscasts, including teases, promos, intros, tags and generatinggraphics
• Maintaining a high degree of knowledge of current affairs and community events
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with news sources
• Participation/MC special events
• Other duties as deemed necessary

Educational Background and Experience

• Broadcast Journalism degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ working experience as an Anchor/Reporter on English
• Experience in Producing
• Strong communication skills. Skills in writing, presenting, and live reporting are key
• Must have sharp news judgment
• Ability to work well with others while under pressure
• Familiarity with news gathering software, and TV news wire services
• Familiarity with technical equipment, newsroom systems, smart phones, teleprompter, edit bays, cameras, audio board, and other technical news equipment

Skills / Qualifications Required

• Must be completely fluent in written and spoken English
• Must be able to work in a high-pressure, deadline driven environment with occasional unplanned changes of work schedules
• Must interface with many sources including viewers, other stations, crews, news, technical staff community leaders, government and city officials
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Some travel may be required
