    Deputy Audit, Risk & Compliance Manager

    Job Grade, M5

    Ref: MTRI-1/1-1R/04/06/ 2018

    Job Purpose:

    An Officer at this level will be responsible to the Audit, Risk and Compliance Manager for generating the Hospital overall internal control and risk management of its operations and to independently perform risk based audits in line with the agreed audit plan to identify and assess the effectiveness of controls accuracy of financial records, systems and efficiency of operation risk management and compliance with Government regulations..

    Job Responsibilities

    • Developing and formulating internal audit policy guidelines and analyzing the impact on regulations;
    • Developing risk management strategies and initiatives to identify and mitigate risks in the Hospital;
    • Coordinating regular audit on systems, processes and procedures leading specific audit assignments;
    • Conducting in accordance to the auditing standards segments of financial, operations, systems and compliance audits to operations;
    • Carrying out investigation on suspected fraudulent and corrupt activities within the Hospital;
    • Audit of financial statements to ensure compliance with laid down standards;
    • Reviewing internal control systems in operation and reporting on any weaknesses;
    • Reviewing and evaluating the system of internal controls, while assessing their adequacy, effectiveness and proposing recommendations for their improvement;
    • Ensuring compliance with Government statutes, regulations and guidelines and applicable laws and regulations;
    • Preparing detailed audit findings and ensure implementations of internal audit recommendations;

    Requirements

    • Served in the grade of Chief Internal Auditor for a period of at least five (5) years.
    • Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting/Finance option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Masters in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in ACCA finalist or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution,
    • Certificate in Part III of Internal Auditor CIA or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Registration by the Institute of Auditors or its equivalent with 2018 membership licence.
    • Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) OR Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Must be ISO trained Auditor.
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

    In addition, all applicants MUST attach the following valid documents;

    • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Compliance Certificate
    • Higher Education Loan Board (HELB) Certificate
    • Certificate of Good Conduct
    • CRB – Credit Reference Bureau Certificate
    • Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Clearance
