    Laboratory Manager

    The position will support the implementation, strengthening and follow up of laboratory activities in the Ndhiwa project (laboratory, IPD, hubs, community), and follow-up of all lab related activities in Homabay Hospital

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Recruit, set up and provide mentorship to the team
    • Review the existing laboratory services and support quality process
    • Implement the lab activities and review the referral and networking process to and from Ndhiwa Lab/Referral Labs
    • Provide oversight to laboratory stock management and monitor the activities
    • Participate in the set-up of studies where laboratory is necessary

    Requirements

    Education

    Essential: Degree in Medical Laboratory Science

    Experience

    • Essential: at least two years of relevant experience as a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor
    • with MSF/other NGO experience especially in HIV/AIDS
    • Experience in setting up of new tests and procedures
    • Training skills and experience in working with MOH and mentorship skills

    Languages

    Essential: English Kiswahili

    Desirable: Luo

    Knowledge

    Computer literacy, all-round technical understanding (Microsoft Excel, Ward , Power Point )
