Job Purpose Statement

Develop and implement procurement and purchasing strategies that align with overall company policy and objectives for all In-Direct Procurement Categories these include, Inflight and General Procurement. Ensure safe, efficient, reliable delivery of goods and services with transparency and minimum risk to all stakeholders in Kenya Airways PLC

Monitor Market trends worldwide and ensure to provide a cost efficient and seamless Supply Chain with insight on fluctuation of raw material and innovation across the product categories to ensure safe and reliable operations.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Expected To

• Develop procurement & purchasing strategies to align with organizational policy ensuring procurement assessment, sourcing and category strategies deliver against cost modelling and management.
• Monitor market trends to ensure targeted savings in diverse & changing market conditions by keeping abreast of innovation of service delivery for all categories.
• Develop framework for supplier performance management and evaluation to deliver quality and savings. Ensure strategy to monitor & grow quality supplier base is in place to reduce risk in supplier consolidation.
• Develop strategy to ensure supplier consolidation is implemented to deliver value for money across Supply Chain.
• Drive ERP system utilization to ensure integrity and provide visibility along the chain for all internal and external users.
• Improve & enhance sourcing strategy to include E-Platforms in consultation with the business stakeholders.
• Ensure better transactional procurement solution to provide visibility to the end Budget, procure, Accounts payable.
• Review sourcing strategy to ensure it delivers product, value for money and ensures supplier adherence to company policies and values.
• Develop a transparent negotiation matrix with stakeholders to monitor costs vs budget.
• Ensure policies to guide on requirements are developed for all categories driving SC compliance.
• Design procurement and purchasing policies to deliver as per departmental plans with clear spend.
• Provide leadership and support to get early & active engagement in sourcing and procurement in line with company policy and procedure.
• Drive efficiency & effectiveness of procurement by creating consistency across SC by aligning strategy with all departments.
• Ensure evaluation & selection of suppliers is through the approved procurement process.
• Develop standards to be used to proactively review of specification or requirements to ensure greater leverage of requirements and supplier consolidation.
• Provide overview of risk areas for payment.
• Develop performance management strategy of suppliers against contract to ensure value for money for Kenya Airways both in service and delivery.
• Ensure supplier use of I-SUPPLIER to enhance transparency and service delivery.
• Provide procurement leadership to internal stakeholders this entails monthly review of reports and plans against budget.
• Financial reports on cost and performance of suppliers to be shared to drive ownership.
• Develop platforms and framework to address risk and feedback on transparency.
• Develop SLA’s and performance criteria & ensure implemented to evaluate and pre-qualify suppliers.
• Develop quarterly evaluation criteria for consolidation of categories for suppliers.
• Monitor market to ensure new supplier and product identification.
• Provide reports on projects vs spend, Open invoices, spend commitment, vendor performance, open orders.
• Develop recommendations on risk areas.
• Provide overview of risk areas for payment.
• Ensure escalated issues on payments are fully addressed.

Knowledge And Experience

• Degree in Business related field
• Graduate diploma in Procurement
• Membership in KISM
• Good negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Strong Analytical skills
• 8 years or more in procurement
