    Lecturer / Tutorial Fellow in Psychology and Psychotherapy

    Reporting To: Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs

    Job Description

    The holder of the job will lead the curriculum development and delivery in Psychology and Psychotherapy.

    Further, the holder will develop, fundraise and implement research and extension activities in the area.

    Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate (participate in) the development of curricular in psychology and psychotherapy
    • Lead (participate in) accreditation and implementation of courses as per CUE guidelines
    • Teach and supervise students
    • Coordinate practicum
    • Develop and carry out research studies
    • Form and manage partnerships for advancing psychology and psychotherapy
    • Mobilize resources to ensure sustainability of courses in psychology and psychotherapy
    • Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and material which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.

    Academic requirements

    • An earned PhD (ongoing PhD candidate) in health Psychology/Psychotherapy or related field from a recognized university
    • At least Three (3) years teaching experience in a recognized university or similar relevant research/industry experience for the position of Lecturer.
    • Publications with at least Twenty four (24) publication points for a lecturer
    • Registered with relevant professional body

    Experience

    • At least Three (3) years teaching in a recognized university or research/industry
    • Curriculum development and delivery
    • Knowledge of CUE regulations
    • Knowledge and experience in academic or industry settings
    • Managing clients in area of expertise

    • Knowledge, skills and attitude of an ethical practitioner.
    • Excellent academic writing and language skills.
    • Professional student-centric approach to learning.
    • Commitment to quality, teaching, assessment and research.
    • ODEL methodologies of curriculum delivery.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Team player
    • Possess leadership capabilities
    • A strategic and critical thinker with ability to generate and grow new ideas
    • Computer proficiency
