    Tutorial Fellow in Bioethics

    Reporting To: Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs

    Physical Location: Nairobi

    1. Job Description

    The holder of the job will participate in curriculum development and delivery of Bioethics programmes. Further, the holder will develop, fundraise and implement research and extension activities.

    2. Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

    • Participating in the development of curricula in Bioethics
    • Support accreditation and implementation of courses as per CUE guidelines
    • Teach and supervise students
    • Develop proposals and carry out research activities
    • Form and manage partnerships for advancing Bioethics
    •  Mobilize resources to ensure sustainability of courses in Bioethics

    Academic requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in health or biomedical sciences or related discipline
    • Masters in Bioethics from a recognized university
    • Registered with relevant professional body

    Work Experience

    • Teaching experience in a recognized university level or research/industry
    • Participated in curriculum development
    • Knowledge of CUE regulations
    • Knowledge and experience in research ethics and other related areas

    Qualities and Competencies

    • Knowledge, skills and proper attitude of an ethical practitioner
    • Excellent academic writing and language skills
    • Professional student-centric approach to learning
    • Commitment to quality, teaching, assessment and research.

    • Leadership capabilities
    • A strategic and critical thinker with ability to generate and grow new ideas
    • Computer proficiency
