    Logistics and Procurement Officer

    Reports to: Base Manager - Marsabit

    Direct Reports: None

    Contract Details:

    • One (1) Year Fixed Term Contract Renewable Subject to Availability of Funds and Performance
    • Starting Salary of the Pay Grade – Kes 99,197
    • Pension after conformation of appointment

    Job Summary:

    The incumbent will provide efficient and effective logistics and procurement support in Marsabit County in compliance with Concern’s and Donor policies & procedures

    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Procurement
      • Processing duly authorised supplies requests for the procurement of goods and services within Marsabit County up to and including requesting for quotations, preparing and facilitating approval of Quotations Evaluation Forms and Local Purchase Orders (LPOs)/contracts/agreements
      • Processing payments for all goods delivered and services rendered
      • Maintain proper procurement documentation/records
      • Periodically updating and disseminating the Supplies Requests (SR) Tracker
      • Day to day management of supply and service contracts and framework agreements with prequalified suppliers/vendors up to and including ensuring agreed delivery timelines and specifications are met
      • Liaising with suppliers/vendors as and when required
    • Logistics
      • Assist with stock counts and stores documentation
      • Fill in for logistics Officer transport when on leave
      • Maintaining proper logistics records
    • Responding to Emergencies:
      • Participate and contribute as necessary towards Concern’s Emergency response as and when necessary
      • Comply with Concern’s health, safety and security guidelines during emergencies
      • Code of Conduct and Associated Policies
      • To adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Concern Code of Conduct and associated policies.

    Job Specification:

    • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration or relevant field
    • Professional Certification in procurement and logistics or relevant field
    • At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role. Previous experience of working in an NGO and or Concern is preferred.
    • Proficiency in the use of computers and applications
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, analytical, negotiation and report writing skills
    • Innovative, flexible team player with an ability to work under pressure
    • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili. Fluency in the local language is an added advantage
