    Account Assistant

    Duties and Responsiblities

    Underwriter Management

    • Conduct monthly reconciliation of premium payable and premium receivable accounts, as well as regular meetings with underwriters to ensure correct premium payment allocation.
    • Oversee daily premium collections in the system and collaborate to guarantee accurate premium payment processing.

    Reconciliations

    • Reconciliation of Investments and preparation of investment reports monthly.
    • Reconciliation of insurance balances between Minet Kenya and assigned underwriter.
    • Monthly reconciliation and analysis of assigned General Ledger account.
    • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts and signed off for payment recoveries.

    Reporting

    • Preparation of management accounts, board reports, and consolidated financial statements on a group level in an accurate, comprehensive, and timely manner.
    • Preparation of weekly cash projections or cash flow forecasts, as well as a cash position report for the group to assist in planning.

    Key Competencies

    Knowledge And Skills Required

    • Good problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of regulations by IRA.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of applicable tax laws.
    • Good planning and organizational skills
    • Excellent report writing skills.

    Professional and Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business related course.
    • CPA’s, ACCA or CFA’s part 1.
