Accountant II at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication

Job Description 

• This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the  guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail: 
• Collation of financial estimates; 
• Verifying returns and vouchers; 
• Manage petty cash, cash books, ledgers, imprest warrants; 
• General accounting work involving book-keeping and routine accounting entries; 
• Control of expenditure and below-the-line accounting; 
• Collecting of revenue; and 
• Safekeeping of Accountable Documents. 

Person Specifications 

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: 

• Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: - Commerce (Accounting option), Forensic Accounting, Economics, Business Administration (Accounting option), Business Management (Accounting option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution; and 
• Certificate in computer application skills 

Terms of Service 

• The successful candidate will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service. The  Minimum basic salary for this position will range from Kshs. 42,636 Kshs. 58,938/= per  month exclusive of allowances.
