    Accounting Intern

    Job purpose:

    To be trained and under supervision provide accounting, administrative, operations and logistical support to ongoing research activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • To be trained and prepare monthly study budgets.
    • To be trained and under supervision receive and account for office petty cash.
    • To be trained how to maintain complete and accurate office petty cash records and reconciliations under supervision.
    • To be trained and assist in the management of office and study supplies.
    • To be trained how to effectively manage service providers and suppliers under supervision.
    • To be trained how to coordinate movement of staff including vehicle allocation.
    • To be trained and under supervision implement financial policies and procedures.
    • Assist in managing vendor payments and utility bills under supervision.
    • To be trained and maintain assets register and ensure that project equipment is well maintained.
    • Handle vehicle fueling and repairs under supervision.
    • Processing staff taxi requests under supervision.
    • To be trained how to issue stationery and study supplies while maintaining an inventory for the same.
    • Sourcing for training and meeting venues under supervision.
    • To be trained how to systematically file documents.
    • Follow up on official letters and communication under supervision.
    • To be trained how to keep track of vehicle insurances, trackers, Government inspection stickers, renewing them on time and ensuring that vehicles are compliant with all government requirements.
    • Performing any other duties assigned from time to time under supervision.

    STAFF QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES

    Education and Professional training

    • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting or Business Administration.

    Experience and Skills

    • Must be reliable, self-motivated and self-driven
    • Good communication skills
    • Strong I.T skills.
    • Good knowledge of laboratory operations and procedures.
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks.

    Method of Application

    Terms of Engagement:

    • Appointment in the internship program will be for 6 months. This may be extended for another 6 months.

    • A stipend will be provided.
    • Interns will be expected to take up a personal accident cover and medical Insurance cover
