Accounting Lead at CloudFactory

Responsibilities:

• Be the subject matter expert in the domains of technical accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance. 
• Perform complex and detailed reconciliations and conduct closure processes.
• Research and analyze critically to identify, prioritize and resolve complex financial issues which may span multiple business areas with a focus on identifying underlying issues and recognizing exceptions. 
• Assist the local and global leadership teams by providing relevant financial information and alternative courses of action as established through research and analysis and provide recommendations to resolve financial issues.
• Liaise with KRA, tax consultants, accounting consultants and legal counsel to resolve tax and financial reporting issues for the Kenya office.
• Manage annual statutory audits of the Kenya office. 
• Develop, recommend and implement new or revised policies and procedures for better controls and efficiencies.
• Participate in critical analysis of existing systems and processes to identify and implement process improvements opportunities.
• Lead, train, coach and review work of other team members as needed. 

Requirements

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in similar role (excluding internships/articleship)
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting ,Economics or any business related field.
• Qualified in a professional accountancy certification: CPA K / ACCA
• Experience of working with accounting systems required, preferably Netsuite.
• Sound spreadsheet skills (more than “basic” skills) 
• Good verbal communication skills (English). Excellent written communication skills (English)
