    Adjunct Lecturer

     REF: KSL/HR01/2022

    Overall purpose of the job
    Reporting to the Assistant Director, Advocates Training Programme. The adjunct lecturer will provide training services in the Advocates Training Programme.

    Job specifications (duties)
    Areas of Specialization

    The required expertise is in the following course units: –

    • Trial Advocacy
    • Legal Writing
    • Commercial Transactions
    • Legal Practice Management- Accounting
    • Persons’ specifications

    The successful candidates should: –

    • Possess an LLB or equivalent and an LLM or equivalent from a recognized university.
    • Possess B.COM or equivalent with Accounting Major and Masters in Science/Business Administration (Accounting or finance full Professional qualifications in Accounting CPA or Equivalent 6years and above teaching experience. (Accounting lecturers who need not necessarily be lawyers or advocates of the High Court)
    • Trial Advocacy lecturers should be trained and examined by The National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) because the method used to teach and examine Trial Advocacy is the NITA method (National Institute of Trial Advocacy) System.
    • Be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with at least five years post admission experience. 
    • Have the ability to conduct legal training at a practical level.  
    • Have been trained in Andragogy skills. 
    • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports. 
    • Have excellent planning and organizational skills.  
    • Have good Information Communication Technology skills.  
    • Have good customer care and public relations skills.  
    • Possess good interpersonal relations skills and be a team player.  
    • Have the ability to work under minimal supervision.
