Duties and Responsibility
Programme Design and Implementation
- Coordinate the design, development, and delivery of training and extension programmes aligned with AICAD’s mandate of poverty reduction through capacity development.
- Develop training curricula, manuals, and learning materials for regional, in-country, and grassroots programmes.
- Coordinate implementation of training activities in key thematic areas such as agriculture, enterprise development, health, and community empowerment.
Training Delivery and Facilitation
- Facilitate high-level training sessions, workshops, and seminars for diverse stakeholders including extension officers, farmers, SMEs, and community groups.
- Promote participatory and practical learning approaches, including on-site (grassroots) training delivery.
Extension and Community Outreach
- Oversee dissemination of knowledge, technologies, and research outputs to communities and stakeholders.
- Strengthen linkages between research institutions, universities, and end-users to ensure practical application of knowledge.
- Support community empowerment initiatives and promote self-reliance through capacity-building interventions.
Needs Assessment and Programme Development
- Conduct training needs assessments and stakeholder consultations to identify priority areas for capacity development.
- Design responsive programmes tailored to socio-economic challenges at regional and community levels.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Develop monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks for training and extension programmes.
- Track programme outcomes, assess impact, and prepare periodic technical and progress reports.
- Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, universities, NGOs, and development partners.
- Mobilize resources and contribute to proposal development for funded training programmes.
- Represent AICAD in regional forums related to capacity development.
Supervision and Leadership
- Provide technical support and supervision to training and extension staff.
- Mentor junior officers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in programme delivery
Knowledge Management and Innovation
- Promote knowledge sharing, innovation, and adoption of best practices in training and extension.
- Integrate digital tools and e-learning approaches into capacity development programmes.
- Resources mobilization
- Develop a resource mobilization plan
- Identify potential donors (governments, NGOs, private sector, development partners
- Write strong, evidence-based proposals
- Collaborate with stakeholders’ universities, communities, NGOs and other agencies
- Share success stories and research outputs
- Provide timely financial and technical reports
- Track project performance
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Minimum 2nd Class -Upper Division) in

- Social Sciences or related field
Master’s degree in:
- Agricultural Science
- Natural Sciences

Professional Experience
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in training, extension services, or capacity development programmes.
Demonstrated experience in:
- Designing and delivering training programmes
- Community-based development projects
- Working with multi-stakeholder environments (government, academia, communities)
- Extensive resource mobilization, including identifying funding opportunities, developing winning proposals, and cultivating donor relationships to generate sustainable financial and in-kind support
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of training methodologies, adult learning principles, and participatory approaches.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation of development programmes.
- Proposal writing and resource mobilization skills.
- Proficiency in ICT tools for training (e-learning platforms, MS Office, data tools).
