    Associate Consultant

    Tasks and Responsibility

    • Corporate security and resilience consulting tasks
    • Operational security consulting tasks
    • Conduct executive protection assignments as required
    • Provide operational security support to other consultants delivering tasks in medium/high-risk locations
    • Service multiple consultancy assignments concurrently utilising regional resources
    • Act as Engagement Manager and deliver on assignments
    • Support the development of innovative products and services that address client needs, and that help maintain the Company at the forefront of the sector
    • Support the wider business with business development tasks
    • Consistently develop the Company's positioning with its clients to enhance business development and secure higher fee-earning engagements
    • Pro-actively seek opportunities to develop projects and business
    • Increase business generated from clients across the practice region
    • Ensure that revenue targets are met and/or exceeded
    • Delivery of tasks for clients on time, on budget, to the highest standards
    • The role will involve travel to client sites and Control Risks offices (particularly in East Africa)
    • The incumbent may also be required to undertake crisis management-related activities and wider crisis and security consulting tasks as directed.
    • Undertaking fee-earning consultancy, including but not limited to security vulnerability assessments (site/project/supply-chain/business), audits and planning focussed tasks. In addition, you may be required to support security risk workshops, intrusion testing, business continuity consulting and other security consulting tasks.
    • Support consultancy assignments in scoping, delivery and reporting.
    • Ensure that practices, policies, strategies and services are fully aligned with client needs.
    • Support maintenance of client relationships; act in conjunction with consultants and key account managers.
    • Maintain time and expense records to ensure accurate invoicing in accordance with company procedure.
    • Delivery of tasks for clients on time, on budget and to the highest standards.
    • The role may involve significant travel to client sites and Control Risks offices (across the region).
    • Client liaison in order to develop client relationships across the full spectrum of capabilities.
    • Ensure requests from clients and prospective clients are dealt with effectively.
    • Coordination and support to regional tasks as necessary.
    • Maintenance and management of sub-contractors and coordination of associated engagements with appropriate contracts and compliance requirements.

    Requirements

    • Proven ability to support professional delivery with a focus on quality and initiative.
    • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
    • Proven team player with an independent capacity to also work with minimal supervision.
    • Proven ability to multi-task and balance competing requirements.
    • Knowledge of ISO 31000 and risk assessment methodology.
    • Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to compile quality products for clients in whichever format is required.
    • Experience in drafting security and crisis management plans as well as security reviews and risk assessments.
    • Exposure to, or delivery of, operational security risk consulting.
    • Excellent report, presentation and proposal writing skills in English.
    • Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships.
    • Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information.
    • Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in risk management or security-related field.
