Assistant Editor at BBC Monitoring

Role Responsibility

• You will oversee the direction of BBCM’s Africa output and related commissions.
• You will be a key member of the editorial leadership team and will be expected to contribute to longer-term strategic planning for BBCM as a whole. You will proactively identify possible improvements and innovation in working practices, ensuring BBCM’s insight is evident throughout and that appropriate formats and strategic priorities are adhered to, enabling BBC Monitoring to deliver maximum value to users.

• This role requires a combination of strong team management experience and editorial leadership and is pivotal to contributing to the overall shape of BBCM’s products and services relating to sub-Saharan Africa.
• You will be an inspiring and bold leader and expected to guide the Editorial Leads (SJTMs) in your coverage area, also helping ensure that BBC Monitoring meets News Group targets and the BBC’s strategic priorities.
