    Capability and Sustainability Lead, Supply Chain

    • The Capability and Sustainability Workstream Lead on the Global Supply Chain Transformation Project leads the design and execution of CARE’s key enablers as part of our overall supply chain strategy. This will include supply chain planning (strategic and operational), technology and data, including analysis and reporting, people development and sustainability (environmental, social and economic), as well as coordinating the function's policies and procedures and key performance indicators.
    • In this role, the Capability and Sustainability Workstream Lead needs to have strong relationships with the key stakeholders across all areas of supply chain enablement in Country Offices, Regional Management Units and CARE Headquarters. In addition, the role will provide supply chain technical guidance to other CARE Confederation Members.
    • This position provides leadership, oversight, and management of the workstream that focuses on supply chain technology and data, people development, supply chain sustainability and performance management on the Global Supply Chain Transformation Project. This includes defining the strategy and goals, defining the plan to deliver against this and being accountable for delivery against this plan for achievement of the goals and objectives, milestones and deliverables.

    Responsibilities
    Oversight, ongoing supervision, leadership & management of the Capability and Sustainability workstream

    • Define the strategy and goals for all of the key enablement components of the supply chain globally – ensuring that this has extensive input from country and regional offices. Specific focus areas are on planning (strategic and operational), technology and data, analytics and reporting, key performance indicators and performance management. This will include the delivery of the integrated global supply chain platform and delivery of the required analysis and reports for the supply chain function.
    • Define the strategy and goals for supply chain sustainability – ensuring that this has extensive input from country and regional offices. Specific focus areas are on environment, social, economic and governance components of supply chain sustainability.
    • Define the project plan to deliver the strategy and goals.
    • Provide regular status checks and escalate any potential slippages, risks and issues through the Global Supply Chain Transformation Project governance structure and cadence.

    Develop CARE’s global supply chain capacity

    • Development and management of the functional competency model for supply chain.
    • Selection and management of the training curriculum and provision of the required training platform(s) to support functional skills development.
    • Definition of the supply chain learning pathways and talent development framework based on the CARE framework.

    Engagement and communication with stakeholders

    • Develop strong relationships with other functional groups within and beyond supply chain and executive leaders, particularly at regional and country level.
    • Ensure stakeholder alignment and coordination via clearly articulated governance processes.
    • Provide strategic consulting and analytic perspective to the stakeholders on supply chain enablement related areas.
    • Ensure a collaborative and effective approach within the extended team.
    • Ensure effective communication between units, other CARE entities and external parties.
    • Business partner to internal and external stakeholders.

    Best practices development

    • Identify best practices internally and externally.
    • Create a forum and knowledge repository to allow for sharing of these best practices.
    • Agree which best practices to adopt and incorporate into the capability and sustainability workstream strategy and plan.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business field: Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience of implementing and/or using supply chain technologies
    • Proven track record of defining supply chain strategies, policies, procedures and key performance indicators.

    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, both as a leader of teams and as a leader of projects - dynamic, strategic and resourceful.
    • Strong communication skills that demonstrate an ability to influence others through oral and written presentation. Successful candidates are able to persuade, motivate and compel support for key ideas and initiatives by delivering clear, well-structured presentations.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to bring a macro perspective to business opportunities.
