    Cargo Pricing & Revenue Manager

    Job Purpose:
    To support the sales team by formulating and enforcing pricing & revenue policies through proactive initiation/negotiation/implementation and management of the 
    rate offering of Kenya Airways and interline partners for network revenue generation in line with revenue budget.

    Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

    • Accountability (Responsibility)
    • The Cargo Pricing and Revenue Manager will:
    • Provide budget assumptions for effective budget
    • Work with Network Planning, Passenger Revenue Management and Freighter & Product Development Department to enhance current schedules and develop new routes
    • Formulate network pricing policy to guide sales team in implementation to ensure budget targets are met
    • Proactively manage fact-based inventory policies to achieve revenue maximization on all the KQ flights
    • Negotiate pricing strategies with partners to optimize revenues in joint ventures
    • Identify off-line business opportunities to expand airline’s & cargo activities through SPA arrangements
    • Negotiate interline pricing policies and file/renew when expired and analyze/push interline sales as a second revenue stream
    • Formulate and enforce cargo “Fly as Booked” policy through the hub to deliver expected service levels
    • Evaluate cargo flows to identify opportunities for capacity variation & new route/capacity development
    • Review business analysis & reports to update networkwide pricing & capacity policies
    • Develop, maintain & enforce departmental procedures to ensure effective process flow regarding spot rates and promo rates/tactical
    • Develop staff capabilities to improve their effectiveness and efficiency with the view on the future growth
    • Develop an annual pricing strategy to guide towards the growth of the airline’s market share, available tones per kilometer
    • Review and analyze the company’s product pricing compared to published and undisclosed prices of competitors in the marketplace with a view on the short term and long-term rates
    • Track historical customer demand through quantitative analysis to determine effectiveness of implemented pricing programs.

    Knowledge, Skills and experience:

    • Minimum University Graduate
    • 8 years of experience in the aviation industry (at least 5 years in cargo aviation industry)
    • Computer skills - Microsoft office, email, etc.
    • Knowledge of pricing & inventory management
    • Financial acumen
    • Good negotiator
    • Ability to influence
    • Good presentation skills
    • Strong disruption management skills
