Cargo Security Coordinator at Swissport

Swissport is recruiting for the position of Cargo Security Coordinator, based at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that operational excellence is delivered without compromising on quality, safety and service delivery.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform general warehouse inspections
• Compile reports and investigate on any irregularities.
• Perform random checks on the cargo against the documentation for all special cargo
• Ensure that sufficient x-ray screeners are deployed (incl. rotation) and that they are competent to carry out x-ray duties.
• Assist the CCTV controller Ensure that all vulnerable cargo is secured and that it is closely monitored during storage
• Ensure strong room/safe keys are safely and securely stored at all times.
• Verify that all payments have been done e.g. customs duty, handling charges, storage, overnight parking, etc before final release to owners / shippers / consignees.
• Ensure nobody removes any item from Swissport premises without appropriate authorization
• Ensure all persons wishing to access the warehouse do so in accordance with the prevailing regulations
• Conduct random verification of all people inside the warehouse to confirm they are wearing valid ID passes.
• Ensure that only approved entry/exit points are used and thus ensure effective access control measures are adhered to. Ensure that all accidents/incidents are recorded in the O.B. (Occurrence Book) and that the necessary abstracts are raised for follow ups.
• Follow up all incoming / outgoing VAL shipments, ensuring that they are safely secured and that the process is efficient.
• Inspect and test all necessary electronic security equipment such as (but not limited to the x-ray machines, CCTV. turnstiles and the public address system
• Test the effectiveness of the sub-contracted security SOP

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 'O' Level C+ and above
• Diploma
• Ex-NYS or any security firm
• 4 years relevant experience
