Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

• To review patients before and after surgery on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made and inform the in charge of any issues or problems.
• To cover theatre anaesthetic duties as assigned and to attend to emergencies when they occur.
• To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Anaesthesia Service is of the highest quality and reflective of best practice.
• Appraise the benefit of surgery to the patient before they are operated on.
• Plan for post-operative care and management of all patients destined for operation.
• Manage the patients during the operation i.e. administer anaesthesia and monitor the patient during surgery.
• Manage all the anaesthetic appliances and machines
• Carry out resuscitation of patients and managing them thereafter.

QUALIFICATION

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery from a recognized institution.
• Must have a Higher Diploma in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
• BLS and ACLS training is a MANDATORY.
• Should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Anaesthetist.
• Must have professional indemnity and a valid practicing license.
