Clinical Officer at Jordan Hospital

Role Summary

To provide clinical services mainly in the outpatient and inpatient as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. History taking and physical examination of patients/clients
2. Attend ward rounds and participate in multidisciplinary patient care
3. Undertaking clinical checks on all treatment sheets and prescriptions for suitability of treatment
4. Diagnosis and management of patients in outpatient/inpatient
5. In collaboration with the team receive and attend to patients who require emergency services
6. Appropriately refer or admit patients who require hospitalization or specialized services
7. Periodic self-assessment to ensure up to date with the trends in the career.
8. Participate in patient consultations and discussion of cases with the doctors over best management suited to the patient’s condition.
9. Perform clinical procedures within the rules and regulations consistent with organization procedures.
10. Provide spot checks on the procedure performed by the nurses/lab personnel.
11. Handle patient data/information confidentially always.
12. Keeping and maintaining complete and up-to-date client records in collaboration with the MoH guidelines
13. Provide regular feedback to the Medical Officer on the clinic activities.
14. Participate in the development of Health Facility work plans and review them on a monthly basis with the Medical Officer.
15. Implementing Community Health Care activities in liaison with other health workers

Qualification and Key Competencies

1. Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Institution
2. Certificate of Registration and a valid practice license from the Clinical Officers’ Council
3. At least 2years of experience in a healthcare setup.
4. Proficiency in computer skills
